It's mid-engined. It's powered by longitudinally mounted very big V8. It's rear wheel drive. It's built around an aluminum spaceframe. The body panels are fiberglass. It has a ginormous spoiler. It overheats when sitting still in traffic. And it's very, very fast.
Strictly speaking, this describes quite a large number of supercars from Ferrari, Koenigsegg, and others.
@ojamalio No car can compare to Ultima as is by far best production supercar in the world. These record breaking figures prove it.

The only cars that can match a lap time like this are the crazy track day cars. The Veyron might beat the CCX but the McLaren isn't going to crack 1:19. I think the Radical has a chance at the record. But, I think the new Caparo T1 should do it in under 1:10

A few things I read about the Ultima in an owners' blog:
- The default reccomended engine (~400 horsepower Chevy small-block V8) is very very finnecky, and perpetually needs readjustment.
-It overheats if it sits in one place for more than ten minutes.
-The air conditioner is wonky.
-It's very, very noisy, and completely impractical.
In other words, it's nearly identical to a Lamborghini or Ferrari.

who cares if there was a different driver in it. it beat the record by 5 seconds, even if the stig drove it it obviously would beat the record again.
