  • Thank you matthew00123. And thank you for posting the videos of his you have. I've watched them many times. If you have an iPhone, Touch or iPad, I'd be happy to send you a promo code for the app, Be Free Now, I made using his quotes. I got permission from anewlife to make the app. Thanks again!

  • Wanted to make an app with Vernon Howard's writings. It's now on iTunes! Hope you'll check it out and let me know what you think! Just search on "Vernon Howard" on iTunes. It's in the app store. Thank you! Pixieelos

  • Nice vid, thanks. I have read some of his works and I think he is my favorite spiritual teacher. So honest and direct. Great insight into human nature.... He seems to be underrated but I'm glad I found his works...

  • Thank you for watching and writing! Am glad you also have found his insights useful. Thanks again!!

  • I've always thought Vernon Howard to be one of the most Awakened individuals I've run across, yet he remains relatively unknown.

Lots on Tolle, who is also there, but hard to find more on Vernon, until this, so thanks so much.

Read almost all of Vernon's books, and he is as direct as one can get.

  • Thank you dpmduran for watching and writing! You may already receive anewlife, org daily emails with his quotes. If not, you may enjoy them. I keep some up on computer sticky notes for quick reminders. Thank you again for your comments! Pixieelos

  • Yes, I've been getting the daily quotes for over a year now, and they line me up for the day.

I also have printed my favorites, which are many. Kinda like that Vernon is only for those that somehow, run across him, even though I've shared him with those I feel seem ready.

  • Cool! Thanks for finding the video and sharing!

  • Thanks Pixileelos, it a relief to hear from those who can see straight from the self. It's like meeting someone out at sea in the fog who has a compass and can confirm wether we are heading the right way or not!

Something ocurred to me regarding 'tuning into channels' - The thing i didn't get for along time is that there is no-thing to really find and that's why the 'self' seems so elusive. If one does find 'something', then that isn't it! The 'channel' when 'tuned into' would be silent!?

  • Thanks ZetanCrisp! Don't think I'm seeing "straight from the self" but I keep on keeping on ... "no-thing to really find and that's why the 'self' seems so elusive. If one does find 'something', then that isn't it! The 'channel' when 'tuned into' would be silent!?" YES .. wish I was agreeing more from experience than belief ... it happens when it happens ... Take care, Pixieelos

  • Perhaps it's like having two radio channels to tune into - Self or ego? If we tune into one we experience the fruits of that and if we tune into the other we experience the fruits of that one, or if we do a bit of both we live in the middle? I feel like i'm in the middle, between worlds at the moment and could do with some sort of experience to convince me which way to really aim for and focus on.

  • I wish for you that you have the experience you're longing for. And you're not alone in that "caught" place that's for sure. Someone once told me that for many of us our experience shifts back and forth so fast like a rubberband, one minute in God Mind and the other in earth mind for a long time. All your words tell me you do know what you're focusing on and have been for quite a while. Running out of room! See next post!

  • (con't from below) Just got this from Abraham-Hicks daily email. Hope it helps! "There are no choices that are really a detour that will take you far from where you're wanting to be -- because your Inner Being is always guiding you to the next, and the next, and the next. So don't be concerned that you may make a fatal choice, because there aren't any of those. You are always finding your balance. It's a never ending process." (See next post!)

  • "Maybe one could say "being aware" with no identification, no "I," no perceiver separate from what's perceived?" Just one big self aware observer then?

  • Yes. But I wish I were saying "yes" more from direct experience than from belief.

  • Hi, what does he mean by "Memorise this definition of anger, then look out at the world of people and events until seeing the perfect accuracy of the definition"?

  • As a question, 'What is anger?'

Awareness, is observing these words in print now.

I am not the words I see, or think.

I am not a passing thought.

Awareness is not hurt by words.

Beliefs gripped firmly and defended as reality are not the substance of personal reality.

To believe they are is an illusion, and a delusion.

Mankind defends ideas (words), and gets angry when such ideas are questioned and/or twisted by another equally powerless idea.

  • Thanks for replying UC241. So once all beliefs and concepts are dropped and only pure conciousness\awareness\intelligence is left, there is nothing to get angry about then?

  • Hi ZetanCrisp,

Personal experience is required in some measure to know anything, truly.

Intellect alone is no more knowledgeable than a book full of words.

(Even a computer is not aware.)

(Imagine having a small intelligent worm rear itself up at you, it then calls you every hateful, filthy name it can.)

At such words you have felt pain before, but now you realize the words have no power of themselves.

Remember cruel words flung at you,....

Did you fall for it again? Feeling hurt? Why?

  • Thanks UC241 and ZetanCrisp!"At such words you have felt pain before, but now you realize the words have no power of themselves." But the difficult "trick" for me is to just drop the false, the reaction to the words, the notion in the first place that seems to make the reaction necessary and that I fall for too many times: that there is a "self" that must be defended and can be hurt. Thank you for the discussion!

  • Hi Pixeelos and UC241. Vernon and others say that our reactions will drop away as we observe them, then they eventually will just stop? I desperatley want a 'breakthrough' of some sort now though coz i've been catching thoughts and feelings for about 20 years now but they continue to re emerge :( (Or should i say, 'I' re-emerge them?) Why though??????????

  • Thanks for the pointers (to the self) UC241. 'Personal experience is required in some measure to know anything, truly.' . That got me pondering - Would that be because pure conciousness is like a blank canvass until it 'adds\paints\projects' something using the mind and until then it doesn't have the concept of it? The same with the 'offensive' worm - pure conciousness\awareness, wouldn't be bothered by it because it hasn't added the concept of needing to be approved of by worms, etc?

  • Hi ZetanCrisp. Thanks again! All I know is I don't know but I think the false me (my mind used "wrongly" keeps trying!) Don't know if the reactions ever stop for most of us, but we can be less bothered by them and less identified with them. For me, when I'm calm and centered, when they arise, they're less intense and pass faster, or maybe I can see the old reaction coming and drop it before it happens. When I'm deep in the drama and totally spent, I'm like a top spinning in useless insanity.

  • Hi Pixieelos. Thanks for the reminder. I guess identification is the key then! To identify with awareness and not with passing imaginations\delusions and events and keep it real, as they say. Tricky stuff! Or is it only as tricky as we 'think' it is, errrm???

  • Thanks again! Just saw: "What you need, what you yearn for, what you're seeking is already in existence. It's ready for you. More than that, it is waiting for you. But you wreck it all by wanting to be the creator of your own spiritual health. And when you create it, it can't be spiritual health at all. It is human ideas and distortions of what spiritual well-being really is."-VH quote. Maybe one could say "being aware" with no identification, no "I," no perceiver separate from what's perceived?

  • Excellent. You've taken the plain spoken truths of Vernon and infused them with creativity. Good job

  • Thank you so much!!
