Yes it is. He was not around during the three cartoon Series that came out before X. X was actually the most popular and long last of the four cartoon series with the young to Adolescent aged viewers. Even thought it was considered to be one of the worst series by some of the newer generations. They plot's and action seqeunces were good. The two main reasons why only the first 5.5 seasons of the shows were aired in the US was improper dubbiing/ bad voice overs and to many censored bits.

Unfortunately the only decent game he has been in since Knucles Chaotric were he was automatically playable from the start that I know of was Sonic Heroe's. He doe's appear eventually in sonic X but it's not until like season 2 or later maybe I'm not sure because they have yet to produce a season box set of Sonic X that takes place before season 5 or 6 we had to buy them.
