Yeah, my old server was a dual 1GHz P3 on a Supermicro. It kaked eventually, so I went to a P4 w/2GB and a RAID 10 on an Asus P4S800D-X. The workstations are an E6550 and two Q6600s, one running Vista (gag!), all on various Asus mobos.
You'll find that the flat screens use about a third of the energy of a CRT. That helps keep both the cost and the heat down.
