  • He played in the band mentioned in sweet home alabama "the swampers"

  • Rex Reed almost sounds like my favorite actor Peter Sarsgaard.

  • @ekocentric Saw Saarsgaard on Broadway in THE SEA GULL. Fantastic actor.

  • @goback3spaces He is one of THE busiest actors around today, huh? I understand that he and his friend Gary Sinese started their acting careers together.

  • Orson is on Desperate Housewives - he plays the boyfriend of Mrs. McCluskey.

  • Another great episode of classic TTTT with Bud Colyer hosting and Johnny Olsen announcing. Thanks for sharing with us and reminding us how good Game Show Network used to be.

  • I wonder what year this was taped, cause Rex was born in 1938, he looks like he just came out of high school...LOL!

  • Probably about 1967.

  • @MGG75 Is he still alive? I read one of his books when I was a teenager and his sense of humor was akin to that of Paul Lyndes and the Fruitcake lady...I wouldn't want to piss any of these people off.

P.S. Did you see him as a Gong show host? He was hilarious.

  • @MGG75 This looks like 1965, based on their styles.

  • Having lived for a time in a rural (still culturally Southern) part of FL, I knew which man was it right off, in part because he was the only one with the proper accent. I guess to the pannel probably all Southern accents sound alike.

  • Orson Bean was a fave talk show guest for my tastes back in the '70s, when he used to be a regular on Johnny Carson's, and other shows. Where are you Orson? Bring Orson back!

  • He is still going strong at the ripe old age of eighty! He'll be 81 in July!

  • That's great, eh! After I wrote my earlier post I was pleased to find a recent interview with Orson online, and a bunch of his funny, dirty jokes he tells in a series of short YouTube videos. He says his son in law persuaded him to record some of his fave jokes and put them on YT, many of them probably a bit too baudy for the Tonight Show of the '70s! Orson forever!
