These 2 episodes were truely amazing. I miss David Tennant, but Matt Smith is fantastic, some people might not agree with me but Him and Karen are brilliant. Can't wait for the new christmas special.

@iH4x Nah. That was Abaddon, chained underneath the Rift. The phrase 'the Darkness' has been used several times by Russell T Davies, to describe a massive approaching threat. In this case, the Time Lords and Gallifrey.

The build up (and the trailer) were better than the episodes, especially Part One. I was thoroughly disappointed with the story. There just seemed to be too much going on, and some convenient plot twists.

I have nothing against the man, in fact he is brilliant for making Doctor Who the success what it now is, but it seems that Russell T Davies just had a few images in his head of what he wanted to see, and he wrote in the rest of the episode around those. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me.

@AlexanderNotSoGreat TBH I quite liked series 1 for all its flaws but it did improve and Series 3 was just consistently INCREDIBLE. I think series 1 was a learning curve but it had alot of good stuff about it

@avptremor Smih's portrayl is't bad TBH. Nowhere ne as good as Tennant for me but I'm happy with hm. Its the other aspects of the show I'm finding disconcerting. Maybits cos so much ha changed so quickly I/we haven't adjusted. However, i cannot deny that having seen series 5 once all the way through I didn't get nearl the same buzz as I have with all the other seasons and honstly it was th worst of all 5 series. 4 me it was still good but the others were bttr. Hopefull series 6 will b bttr

@avptremor Well never say never. All w know its gonna based on A Christmas Carol(which Tril of a Timelord already did bt hey-ho). U never know Moffat might delive his usual greatness. ifeel series 5 was a let down bcos we were expectig EVERY ep written by Moffatt be as good as his earlier ones. But as Head Writer/Exec producer (and with more than 2 ep to write) I think he has had to spread himself more thnly. they r still ood but I thn only the Eleventh Hour + the finale eps were like old Moff

@astrofist I think its perfectly healthy 4 ppl to fuss ovr regenerations. I think thats all part of the natural process of accepting the new guy. ur right though its happened in EVERY case of every regenration. I too was ary of Tennant at first and liked him by series 2's end but not necesarrily as much as eccelston. By series 3 however forget about its Tennant was the best Doctor 4 me

There's just something about the way he writes that's just so brilliant. I mean it's the same as comparing a plate of hot dogs to an ice cream. You like both, they're completely different, but some people would go for the ice cream while others go for the hot dogs

It's not like America has bought the show, thrown in millions of pounds/dollars into it, hired only good looking actors and added in a few musical numbers. And if you scrape every plot to the base, what hasn't already been done? Doctor Who just has new and epic ways to tell it.

@IDNH actually I was not impressed, never was on the edge of my seat, and did not enjoy it. it was predictable end of. You just have not seen the old episodes so you are easily impressed, watch them. My dad had many of them, not all, so i watch them. Trust me they are much better than half the crap Moffat writes. RTD is much better in my opinion.

@SageOfTheSixPaths21 Actually I'm currently going through the old episodes. I'm about to watch The Claws of Axos Episode 2. The old series is brilliant, as is the new series. Moffat is a great writer, although I will admit, I guessed in advanced that Amy and Rory's baby would become a Time Lord by the TARDIS somehow and I hated him for doing that, I just didn't know Melody was River. But still, Moffat is a great writer.

@avptremor meh, I advise giving him a little bit more time ad if u still don't like him, well... these doctor's last roughly 3-4 yrs so the next guy wil come along sooner or later. In the meantime there r books, comics and audio stories from prev Doctor's 2 entertain u as well as the DVDs of older stories (which I guess Tennant's run can now b classed as). What also might hlp is thinking about who COULD'VE gottent the role

I have complete faith that they have chosen well in Matt Smith, and that the show is in safe hands. With Moffat at the helm, I'm sure we're in for an absolute winner of a year.

Time Lords are a spacetimefaring race, there aren't really any gradual changes in the climate or anything like that that makes them need to evolve :P

But how about reproducing? Wasn't there some part in the classic series that said that time lords only get a certain number of regenerations?

Or maybe he knew all along that the time lords were coming back and such (see the end of TEoT p1).
