  • Wasn't the star spangled banner written by Scott Key, an American. Sure the tune was by Stafford Smith, a British. But the lyrics themselves were by an American.

  • why the FUCK would they stop making this car

  • the melody of the star spangled banner was taken from an old british pub tune..thats what clarkson is getting at

  • "pant-wetting"...nice clarkson. nice

  • 6:17

  • 6:08...epic

  • America is a nation made up of all nations. And you bitch when the car is made using alot of those countries?!

  • lol i love how far behind chevy is. zr1 still isnt as good xD. if only this was AWD, it would rip your face off..more

  • i didnt know this car existed... prettty sweet, on the lottery list

  • The uk sucks America's dick

  • @wheatbread88 and america sucks china's dick

  • hello whats the name of the song at 1:41?

  • i just made a mess on my keyboard

  • killen chevy !!!

  • he is finally driving on the correct side lol

  • American classic reborn my big FKN ass... the GTX1 is better and not for the USDM?????????

  • the gtx1 actually sounds like the gt40

  • That GTX-1 is one of the best sounding cars I've ever heard.

  • did he say half a million horsepower? what a retard

  • Welcome to America...where nothing is American :D

  • how about that 2010 srt10 acr viper and the acr-x ?

  • I have no clue what he's talking about with the American navy being "devised by a Brit". The formation of the Continental Navy was a congressional act and if anyone could take credit it would be George Washington who has already armed merchant ships for the task. If he's referring to who many call "The Father of the US Navy" that's John Paul Jones who is a Scot, not a Brit.

I love him, but Clarkson can be so ethnocentric that if you give him enough time, he'll say that the pyramids are British.

  • @douchechillum Exactly why I watch the show for James May, and if I want a good unbiased car review, I will go to curbuyer UK, or fifth gear.

  • @douchechillum Scotland is part of Great Britain.

  • @trydownloadingthis Dont forget Northern Ireland Sir! haha orange bastards.

  • @douchechillum @douchechillum scotland isn't england, but both is part of britain .

  • @douchechillum You are right on all accounts of that. Personally, I actually like watching him go nuts on the british angle of everything, just because I find his ego humerous.

It's just another one of those little quirks that makes me continue to love watching Top Gear. I would feel incredibly disappointed if he ever got his huge (and British) ego under control.

  • @Skyfighter64 such true words. In our rapidly diluting country, becoming devoid of everything that made Britain great, we need people like JC to give this country a swift kick up the arse to make us great again. :-)

  • That GTX sounds absolutely perfect. I've never been a big Ford guy, but as I got older I realized it should be less Chevy vs. Ford, and more America vs. Europe, and I'm proud of what Ford has been building, the GT at the top of that list.

  • FORD SONNNN!

  • NO TOP COMMENT? HERE IS MY CHANCE TO SHIIINEEEEEEE

don't write bad things tome haters

  • American cars were terrible for ages for one simple reason. All the US makers had to do was put a car on sale and no matter how inferior it was to an import some god bless America idiot would shout to the world how great it was. Biased road tests and stupid, uninformed customers meant they could sell any old rubbish. Since people found out how good imports are they're having to get better but there still aren't many good ones.

  • @hunghuge12 other countries would do the same for their cars. if you watch this video, there is a british guy who loves british cars to no end because he is british. you are retarded.

  • @1911harbinger Really? I think you need to watch more of him then. He certainly doesn't love most British cars. Infact they're one of the standing jokes in Top Gear these days. What's retarded is lying to your own countrymen about how good a home grown product is just to sell it. No *real* American patriot would buy an import, would they? If the salesmen were honest and the buyer informed U.S cars would have been improved vastly years ago and the big 3 wouldn't have to beg.

  • @1911harbinger Oh and by the way - replying to a comment with some ill informed, self opinionated crap then calling someone else who has a valid point retarded won't do your cred much good. You would be better spending your time finding out what the fuck you're typing about before making yourself look a twat. Of course you're probably going to make yourself look even more of a moron with the next reply so go right ahead.

  • this is smexy... I love it. This car overpowers not only the road but the expectations and if I'm correct, seems lot more stable than a car this bhpowered should usually be

  • What episode is this from?

  • @MrJRG97 I think it would be from one of his DVD's. The good, the bad & the ugly. From 2006.

  • So what you are saying is this is a Malaysian car, because Lotus is owned by a Malaysian company.

  • @codystafford this movie was filmed before lotus was bought out

  • There are a few reasons why Americans cars are never really any good, the Ford GT and GTX1 are both good because they do have parts from European countries and also Ford is the only car making company in America that is any good at making cars. But like many say American roads are longer and wider and straighter, but still most there cars are poorly put together with bad parts, thats why most of there cars are no good, but is still love Ford GT.

  • @12scoots34 So the SSC Ultimate Aero is a crap car? Chevy Corvette ZR1? Dodge Viper? Rossion Q1? Saleen S7? You are retarded.

  • @Manpinkster3 theyre all good cars but do have thier flaws, ssc the bov's drive you insane, zr1 looks too show-offy muscle car fans go on about riced out cars yet look at the zr1 and its interior less said about that the better, viper engine is stupidly big, rossion shameless noble rip-off, saleen s7 unless its TT better off with a vette or ford gt.

  • That's what I hate about this tool Clarkson. He will try to find ANYTHING to bash American cars. Even if it means finding rivets made in Europe, he will make sure to point it out. What a dick.

  • who thinks that the english and the US should team up and make another GT? :D

  • I'm pretty sure Francis Scott Key wrote the star spangled banner, who was an American.

  • @stevenoliverjr

I think what jezza means is that the tune to the American national anthem was a old English drinking song, then Francis Scott Key added his own poem to it.

  • @stevenoliverjr I think he's referring to the tune Key's lyrics were put to, which was (if I recall correctly) a British drinking song.

  • @stevenoliverjr but the bottom line is... all of your ancestors(whites) came from Europe and majority are brits.

  • @LoveOlderWomen right. and most brits ancestors were whites from mainland europe. so.... you could say any white person on earth all came from somewhere on mainland europe...maybe around prussia? and scandinavia. haha ofcourse there was a major influx of romans! lol

  • @stevenoliverjr Yeah but John Stafford Smith wrote the music, and he was British.

  • @stevenoliverjrthe tune come from an irish anthem, look it up.

  • @stevenoliverjr it was written by FSK (American) but was to the tune of an English drinking written in 1780. Top anthem too. :-)

  • @stevenoliverjr You are correct, he most definitely was. A lawyer/poet from Maryland. He did set his lyrics to a British composer's work. Maybe that's what Clarkson was talking about?

  • @stevenoliverjr The text, absolutely. But the tune is English.

  • @sledge334no I see someone already wrote that... sorry for the repeat.

  • @stevenoliverjr You are correct, Francis Scott Key wrote the lyrics to the star spangled banner, but the song to which it was paired to was called "To Anacreon in Heaven" written by British composer John Stafford Smith.

  • @greasemonkey2985 everybody back in those days was mostly british now leave it alone forGod's sake and enjoy the film about a nice fast loud supercar

  • @stevenoliverjr

John Stafford Smith wrote the music, and he was British.

  • @stevenoliverjr Francis Scott Key just wrote lyrics to a British drinking song so I've read. BTW: check out the origin of "Yankee Doodle Dandy"...or in brit-speak "backward-hill billy homosexual". Yes, that's what was ment when they (the brit's) wrote it.

  • Comment removed

  • @stevenoliverjr His grandparents and parents where British. But was born in Washington. While being "american" is technically British.

  • @stevenoliverjr I think what he was getting at and please correct me if I'm wrong, that Key's ancestry like a lot of American's was from Britain.

  • Seriously people? Who gives a fuck where or who it was made by, all that matters is that it is an awsome car, and I want one

  • we are fans of european cars like we are fans of british dental work.

  • Mmmmmm GTX1 is a bit nice.

Lotus are pretty cool aswell, the only blemish they have is that they helped engineer that awful G-Wiz...

  • @Airgunhead1234 Do you have a source for this information? I especially believe that lotus designed the chassis as they do that for lots of car companies. They even helped develop the chassis and body (plus other things if i'm not mistaken) for the new Nissan GTR.

I know alot of car companies share parts but ford claimed this to be an all American car, which it just isn't.

  • @mikee999 who cares who actually makes the parts, its american designed and american put together. That is an american car, its assembled in the USA other than that I dont care that aston martin has the same steering column or any shit like that. this is a fucking bad ass car, any time an american car gets good reviews theres always someone sticking their dick in cereal so to speak.

  • @StfuSiriusly Simmer down, I was only going by the info on this video. No need to get all hormomal.

What other American car got good reviews? It still isn't a very good car if you consider what the europeans build.

  • @mikee999 No need for diversionary phrases just because he is right doesn't mean that he's hormonal. There is a bias against American cars but there is also a lack of understanding them. The USA is so much bigger than the UK and the cars for the most part are built for our roads which are straighter and wider. Not narrow and full of corners.

  • @Konformation07 True.

  • @Airgunhead1234 So the chassis and body work are british and made from aluminium. The steering and gearbox is also british. Brakes Italian, wheels German and I wouldn't be suprised if there were more. How does that make this car detroit steel?

The US might make a good car on their own one day...... : /

  • @mikee999 But the engine is american

  • @mikee999 the ssc tuatara

  • take the space shuttle,sr71 blackbird, and the saturn V rocket for example! I bet that if you yanked 2 identical cars off the assembly line, gave one a Ferrari V12 and the other an American V8 of equal power and size, say... 6.0 ish

  • granted it has SOME euro parts,(from companies ford owned mostly) but all that suspension and tranny a and brake would be nothing with one of your wheezy, high strung european engines. Face it clarkson, we Americans make power like no one else

  • @GT4viper yeah....pretty sure americans don't make power like the italians.

  • @kro235 Pretty sure italians dont make lightweight like americans.

  • It's just constant bashing on the Americans huh? It gets old after the 2nd joke

  • what show was this on

  • Half a Millon horse power Jeremy get your facts right lol it's more like 550 hp

  • i'm a durtbike kinda guy, and i'm not really into cars. but sweet jesus that looks fun

  • 2:05 mini jiz at the supercharger sound (:

  • welcome to thee ford gt eeex one :)

  • what episode was this from ?

  • Right... hahaha... I don't think anybody would be dumb enough to steel a car with such a price tag, gaining so much attention. Steeling a car like that is like kidnapping a child screaming "Bloody Murder and kidnap".... On the topic of cars. If you really prefer the cars you listed, that's your opinion and I respect that. I was thinking you meant those were "the best cars period"

  • the only car i need is the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, please. I'll take two.

  • Comment removed

  • @LongSchlong9000 Your car collection is as fake and false as the trait claimed by your youtube name

  • @liud128

hurr it's a FANTASY car collection

  • @dennisjonkristensen Where are the McLaren f1, The Paganni Zonda, the Ferrari 458 Italia, the Koenigsegg Aggera? My suspicion is that you are a noob.......

  • @schoolispiss Why are i a noob? you are right about the Mclaren and the 458 Italia but the rest, i don´t think so Maybe the zonda is fast and same with the koenigsegg, but the cars i chose is cars you can use everyday. they are good to look at and got great handling. If you drive a zonda you can be sure that it´s gonna get stolen by someone, same with the koenigsegg and Mclaren

  • truly epic car. My dream garage consists of a BMW E39 530i with an ESS supercharger, 5 speed, and LSD, a Ford GTX1, and a Carrera GT as well as a Ferrari 575 6 speed.

  • i challenge anyone to find a better sounding car than a ford gt :)

  • @nickJetpilot1 Mercedes SLS AMG.

  • @tonythetiger650 That is a nice sound. The SLS is no doubt the muscle car of the Germany.

  • i think top gear is really stupid when they talk about british an american people they should learn how american became a country.. an where they were from...

  • having all kinds of fun at wsir

  • and bigger brakes

  • 0:55 lol did he say half a million HP???

  • what episode was this ?

  • @almor619 Thats not from Top Gear, thats from a DVD Clarkson made on his own, and it's called "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly."

  • NEW AGE WHEELS RUIN THE SHAPE

  • i love the Ford GT is stunning

  • my god,what a noise :O

  • What season/episode is this?

  • FORD GT ROCKS!!!!!

  • what is the name of the song?

  • The National Anthem slur was only half right, sorry, Jezza, the lyrics were written by a freedom fighter, so in other words, barely a Brit, but yes, the tune itself is an english drinking song.

  • @sup3rcars

In a word, money. American cars are now disposable fashion and the US industry does not care to make a high quality car because consumers won't spend the extra money on a car that will get old. The idea is to let it rot and buy a new one to keep up with the times. It's sad, really. But it's not like the US isn't capable of building awesome cars, the aftermarket sector is FANTASTIC here. If you know what you're doing, you can build your own supercar that can compete with anything.

  • @sup3rcars

I didn't say they supplied the chips, but the technology itself originated in America. So European auto companies take advantage of a technology created by American's the same way we take advantage of technologies developed in Europe. I'm saying that what Jeremy is saying is bullshit, also most of those European parts(the actual parts) were created under Ford meaning they supplied the money for their creation.

  • Was that ever put into production?

  • sounds like a pissed off elephant! and i dont think you want to mess with a pissed off elephant.

  • @sup3rcars

By that argument every car everywhere is built by other countries technology, you know all those computer chips in your European cars? American technology....

  • what he said in his dvd is very true, he said that america could build a lot of brilliant things, SR71, space ships, Las Vegas, and a lot of stuff but (no offense) their not really good at making cars...weirdly...im not saying their cars are rubbish, but struggling to keep up...

  • @shobin05

Looks over at a Mustang GT with SRA and .01 seconds of beating a M3 around a tight track....

  • @FordGTGuy its not just lap times, its also the overall balance of a good car...plus although the mustang is one of the coolest cars, people just dont buy it...i mean here of course..interior build quaility is not so good, but the 2011 one is better..

  • @shobin05

The Mustang is very balanced for it's price range, strong motor, good reliability, nice interior(with soft touch material and real metal) and a good suspension and brakes.

  • @shobin05 they make good cars, and of a wide variaty, why they dont make cars like bmw or benz is because thats not what the people want.

people want a nice car, but dont want to spend allot. so why on earth would sombody drop 35K ON a 1 series bmw.... when they can get a far more nicer car for less, just without the fancy hyp over the brand name that is bmw.

  • I really despise Jeremy Clarkson! He starts trying to point out that "oh the wheels are german, the brakes Italian, the body german.... blah, blah, blah! Why must he bash Americans & the cars we have! I've got somthin to say to Mr. Clarkson. "Stay the fuck out of OUR wonderful country, & STOP looking, driving, and thinking about OUR Wonderful Cars and just focus on your British JUNK" ! When it comes to supercars, the Euros can't compete within the same price range & performance as Chevy, & Ford.

  • @kem1139 have you not noticed that he is having fun in the GT?

  • @peppercat89 I do notice he is having fun driving it but I just hate the way he try's to make it a point to say that its not totally an American car just because it has some parts made elsewhere... He always does this with every American Vehicle he drives. If its not made by Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW, Mercedes, or Bugatti its junk...

  • @kem1139 You don't honestly think British people are patriotic about Euros, do you? Hah! We very rarely put the words "European" and "British" in the same sentence together, let alone consider ourselves to be one of "them". Most of us don't even believe we belong in that political monster known as the European Union, so we certainly don't consider ourselves "European" in anyway shape or form, no matter what some crooked politician says.

  • @kem1139 hahahahhahahahhahahahahahhahahhah

Go drive ur pick up truck and dont talk shit about European cars cuz u will never drive one...

  • @kabalacity I will drive my pickup & my sports cars. I'm not heartbroken that I can't drive the Euros they don't mean anything to me. I never said there was anything wrong with them just that for the same performance & price that you get from a Z06 Vette your not gonna get a Euro thats competitive. You Europeans think your so special & like to dog us Americans but just so you know your NO better! So I'll keep driving my truck & be happy with who I am while you talk shit and wish you lived here!

  • @kem1139 Amen! I am from sweden and have been driven US cars since i learned how to drive.

I currantly own as follows, Lincoln Town Car Signature 2003, chevy camaro convertible Z28 1994 Camaro LT 1974 and an old cadillac convertible from -61. there may be better cars but i have been driving these cars for 30 yars and i cant recolect being starnded once! There is nothing to compare when that old V8 is pushing... tons of torqe and real relaxed way of driving.

  • @smirnofowner Totally agree. I've owned alot of US cars too. I've found them to be the most comfortable out of all cars, and I've driven alot of european cars too for work. I've never been left stranded either by my old US cars either.

  • @kem1139

I totally disagree with your comment on BRITISH JUNK. The reason? is because we don't even make JUNK, we don't make fuck all because our country is a pisshole and politicians have sold us down the river. I'm completely baffled why we still call ourselves Great Britain because there is nothing great about it. Oh, and if you haven't guessed... I'm British

  • @nickh1974 We're called "Great", not because of how wonderful or powerful we are, but because of historical, political and geographical reasons. There, see, I bet that's got you stumped! Needless to say it's absolutely NOTHING to do with how great we are or even were.

  • JEREMY CLARKSON = EGOTISTICAL PATRIOT.

  • WTF is a Prius doing in this video lol!

  • he owns a blue one of these......

  • 4:22 OMFG!!!!!! I JUST JIZZED IN MY PANTS!!!! THAT THING SOUNDS LIKE GOD!!!!!!

  • Omfg sounds amazing!!

  • hell on wheels.

  • Why so much arguing? Enjoy the video, have respect for all powerful cars. It's not like any of us can afford them anyway! haha

  • He like most brits has such an obsession with america. We know you're jealous that your country hasn't been the world power in a few centuries but get over it. All you do is talk about us, yet here you never come up because we're not obsessed with you, you're irrelevant. Brits trash the rest of Europe but then somehow claim the rest of Europe as their cars. You have a shitty Aston Martin which has been and is still partially owned by ford.

  • lol...nice take on things. The All American Breakfast? Of Course! Canadian Bacon, English muffins, and German Sausage! :) Delish. I saw one of these one day, Or Porche tried to show off and stepped on the gas. One of the x1s pulled out and punched it, I though something has exploded. The guy in the porche ran and hid i think lmfao....

  • @deedundone what's a porche?

  • @Mockingbird5150 A brand of car. a driver of a porche sports car pulled out and tried to floor his gas pedal and show off but his exhoust was nearly silent..... LOL

  • Screw the S I always forget it lol

  • @deedundone peace to that

  • this cars nuts and when you throw in a twin turbo its absolutely redic

  • LOL.. there a Toyota Prius at 3:35

  • dude whats the song in the 1:45 ?

  • What the heck is a '97 Prius doing in this video?? (pause at 3:34)

  • thats awesome

  • The National anthem was written by Francis Scott Key, who was born in Maryland so...

  • @Jrhoney Exactly... Written by. It was a mere poem. But without the work of John Stafford Smith, a British composer... It would've never become a song nor gotten popular in the US to the point of becoming the now famous Star-Spangled Banner.

  • Man America and London are the how you say come from the same breed practically cousins. Don't lie cause the rest of the planet knows the truth.

  • I would give anything to drive the GT like that.. foot to the floor, sideways around a corner, goddamn..

  • Ive got a GTX......460 D: I want one!!!

  • 6:15 for 700 bhp

  • im sorry but the ford gt is such a fugly car ill save about 10,000 and buy a zr1 or save about 50,000 and buy a ACR

  • @itchytasty100 Yeah i guess you could if you wanted to settle for less traction, handling, power and a motor thats built to deal with 20+ pounds of boost stock and people are able to get 2000hp out of it. Vette engine wouldnt be able to seal with it stock nor a viper. For 150k You get high end or better super car speed and handling for 1/3 the cost. Thats why the GT is worth every penny of it.

  • The GT Then is america's best car , because it's as americain ,as the americain national anthem , which was written by a britt

  • @TheEMIR95 Aston Martin steering wheel which Ford up at that time owned Aston and used Ford Parts. 6.0 V12 that powers it? Ford Engine. Oh and His parents were legal immigrants and he was then born in the US, making him American....

  • @TheEMIR95

    Which it wasn't.......

  • the sound of the gtx1 is just amazing!

  • Ha - well said...

  • Ford gt is the king of all cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
