Although what you did was incredibly dangerous, I admire your spirit. Lord knows I've done some incredibly stupid things on the water (including a large cockpit rec. kayak on white water) and have the scars to prove it. Get a creeking kayak with skirt, a good paddle and some whitewater training and keep on paddlin'.

@freeski151 The experienced kayakers are trying to make sure you don't kill yourself. All I can see is you getting defensive, you're not listening to them. If you got swept under a tree, pushed against the branches by the water, you wouldn't be coming out. That water has incredible power that you cannot appreciate without experience.

By all means try it again next year - you might make the news! But it'll be the last thing you ever do.

Kinda a cool stream... but for real that was an incredibly poor choice. First off, no sprayskirt means that you would pin that much easier. Secondly you didn't have a helmet on.... i.e. if you flipped and were unable to immediately get out, you would have smashed your dome piece or your face. But nice video. Glad you didn't get hurt

@freeski151 I would suggest hetting a harnas mount: much more stable video, because your upper body doesn't move that much... also, the point of view is lower and thus more real... eventually, seeing the hands is also great for a dynamic 1PS ,-))

@2005buickallure haha the ski goggles seemed like a good idea at the time, it was raining hard right up until i took the video and it was high 30s temperature. and as a side note, the stream is now dryed up completely for the summer

Second, you weren't wearing a skirt which would sink you and your boat if you got pinned under a strainer. But way to be adventurous! Nice ski goggles by the way.
