i would still take the s2000... but thats me.. but both cas are great cars..... plus i dont think the s2000 got that good of a launch... just watch the next video aingst the m3... normaly a s2000 has a good lanch, im not saying the best time to 60mph (100kmph) just the launch, i really bet the s2000 had a wornout clutch...
@JaymezSPCM im guessing your running a turbo then? i have a 96 sl2 i picked up for cheap and looking at the mods i cant find a way to get over 150 without a turbo or nos lol
The guy in the Honda has sticky Dunlop Direzza Sport z1 Star Spec tires which are so sticky that he was burning clutch and not tires that day. Also, even if the tires weren't so sticky, I (the sky owner) have the advantage of a rear sourced from a Cadillac CTS-V whereas the S2000 uses the same 4.10 in the Miata--it's the S2k's achilles heel. You run the risk of destroying the dif during aggressive launches. I'll be the first 1 to admit though, the S2k is worlds better of a sports car nonetheless
The sky is faster, better looking, built better (in the ass end anyway) and costs less if I remember correctly. Yet you say the S2K is worlds better? Fill me in on that one!
@holyfuckjustsignmeup I own a solstice gxp, which is esentially athe same car. He is refering to certain aspects of the s2000 being better. The gearbox feels better and is easier to operate, the clutch is a lil more intuuitive in the s2000 and the steering transmitts more feedback and thus it feels more put together. however im with you, for me, speed, looks, reliability( only car ever that i did more than 50 clutch drops and not a single issue) and weight trump all the s2000s pros.
How so? The motor is an Ecotec which is built by GM along with the rest of the car. Just because it has a 4 cylinder doesn't mean its an import. I have an '02 SC2. It has a 1.9L in it which was built by Saturn. It doesn't mean its "practically" an import. It's just an American made 4 cylinder.
A stock S2000 isn't going to break it's glass rear end during a launch. Regardless the 260hp sky Redline would have smoked the S2000 anyway no matter what the excuse is.
I have a feeling if the S2000 driver tried to launch better he would have kept up at least

Saturn used foriegn parts on all their cars, which is why they are so good.

I'm willing to bet that S2000's clutch is way dead... It doesn't even look like its trying.

Im a Saturn man myself. I own a 1996 Sc2 with about 175whp atm. However, i do like the s2k and I love teggys and the rsx.
Good race. :)

The ecotec 2.0 turbo is engineering's best so far. My ZX12R wasn't this advanced.

Thanks for sharing. All my friends won't believe me that my Sky (well it's a Opel GT) could battle a S2000. ;-) Now I've got a proof. :-)
