I am an italian Australian so i have mixed feelings. Personally, it clearly was not a foul and if that is what constitutes a foul in today's game then this sport is pathetic. Bring back the 70's and 80's when players like maradonna got their ankles hacked off and it was play on. Im australian, and it was a penalty. Niell is an idiot for slide tackling in the box at the 94th minute when Grosso wasnt going anwhere. Wqtching this shows italy deserved the win, they dominated before materazzi was sent off, possibly unjustly

im australian and it wasnt a dive, but grosso couldve navigated around the slide tackler better than he did... he was looking for a penalty. as soon as he flopped he turned and appealed to the ref.

its funny how you call Italians divers... when 94th minute... potential goal and the defender goes for a sliding tackle before Grosso is even near him... Grosso wasnt even able to go around him due to the fact that he had his whole upper body blocking grossos path.... last time I recalled your legs should be there
