Movies changed too. At least in Europe they still have 80s nostalgia and organize 80s festivals where people dictate conditions not corporations.

@4321micro agreed, but I see a lot of Reagan era symbolism in this movie. Many people found the Reagan years to be just as corporate, consumer-based and culturally vacuous as the 50's. The 80's was probably more fun for the people reflecting back on it as opposed to the people living back then. But teen and college comedies were much better than the crap coming out now.

LOL I have this song on my iPod (along with the Comsat Angels as well). I seriously can't listen to this song without hearing the poor dude's meltdown in the middle of it (video part @ 2:05). I love how they just shift seats and go about like normal and nothing was wrong. Like it's common place (i'd imagine it might be though for those kind of think tank schools).
