We should all have enough sense by now to know whats right and wrong. If someone kills someone out of hate or something, he is bad and must be killed plain and simple. Look way back like 200 years, if you did a crime, you payed dearly, lose a hand, lose a head. There was no questioning who's good and bad.

Christine, I totally agree with you on people fighting to be right. It's called ego. Almost every major conflict was fought over "I am right and you are wrong". Sadly the world is not prepared to accept accountability for everything that happens. People get to come to a place where they realize they are the creators of their tomorrow's. What they thought yesterday they live today. For most people fear is the driver. And it's all about fear-based living. Religion in most cases is that way.

Yes, I agree that in almost any conflict, each "side" thinks that they are the good guy. But I believe the key word is THINKS. In light of the yogic concept of Satya, or Supreme Eternal Truth, would it not be the case that when you boil the conflict down, one party is in the right, and the other party is in the wrong? In your example of the Spanish Inquisition, the Christians THOUGHT they were in the right, but actually, I think we could all agree that they were not. What do you say?

Hi Unity. I always wondered about the nature of God/Creator/the Source. If we are God. If everything is God and if everything is in yin-yang balance wouldn't God be both good and evil. I agree with that! This particular conversation was more meant to be applied toward people who have an argument, not such extreme cases as raping and murder and such. Usually, though, even a perpetrator bad guy started out as a victim of another to begin with. For instance, Hitler was beaten with a rod every night by his father before he turned into such a bad guy. So in a a way, no baby starts out as a bad guy, it is what is experienced that makes the bad guy later out of an innocent child.

I have to sit down after an argument and then go back to the person in a more calm manner. Sometimes people will get angry over misunderstandings which will make both sides angry. I find it better to walk away, calm down, then calm down and talk things over without taking things personally. Find out what you did to make the person angry or the other way around. Better to sort things out than to be angry at someone over a misunderstanding.

Christine is right in most cases. Most ordinary humans are good, even when they do 'bad' things. Most of the folks we get hurt by are not 'bad' - maybe thoughtless or even stupid sometimes - but not 'bad'.

But there are people who are really bad. There are psychopathic humans who can make decisions they know will destroy the live of others; and they simply dont care.

I dont care what they think about themselves...in my opinion they are bad, or rather evil.

How about a vicious, controlling and hypercritical female who abuses and berates and insults and belittles for Every Little Thing, without stop, for years. Someone who has to Make You Wrong, all the time. I experienced that once. I'm peaceable and wouldn't hurt anyone, but I'd understand someone who finally flipped.

I was a sixties "nice guy" and figured all women were victims of bad men, until I met a woman who was a victimizer ;') Live and learn. Now I have a more balanced perspective.
