Ken Russell thought this was his finest work. This is stated in Russell's interview which accompanies the DVD. Notably, as per Russell's interview, it was at this scene that Eric Fenby appeared unannounced. He was of course invited - the movie was based on his book, 'Delius as I knew Him'. And according to Russell he was outside the room in which this scene was filmed, the crew found him outside - he was weeping, brought to a sudden saddness as the scene recreated so, memories of what had been.
@HurtmeDontPlease Yes, many people, including KR himself. Sorry you're pissed off with my comment about 'the last time'. It was a privilege and pleasure to work with him and the rest of the team throughout 'Song of Summer'... Many people enjoy 'first hand' reminiscences: the anecdote I was sharing was that his wife thought that he had originally cast Oliver Reed in the Debussy film and me in 'Song of Summer' because we both reminded him of his younger self, hence the 3 photos.
Oh, ok, that all sounds fair comment! I once met Bill Oddie but... Anyway, i'm going to remove my previous green eyed post! As you were, sir! All the best! :D

Max was also VERY funny in Ken's 'The Boy Friend' and Christopher was even more handsome. Pity there was nothing for me in that! rogerworrod

Wonderful actor, Max Adrian - very little of him on film. His Thirsites was memorable, and in the first prod,. of 'Candide' as Pangloss.
