Very interesting. It's curious how people traveled long distances to see ancient relics. I think the Protestants are right that being close to God is about spirit, not touching a relic. But the Protestants didn't have to go on crusades to destroy the holy sites and relics. Seeing something physical and sacred can help connect people to the presence of God. Holy Communion does this. But an icon or relic can help some people. We all like museums, and You Tube videos. Live and let live.
