I've always loved watching Whitfield (Gran), when she's interacting with Sawalha (Saffy) and Horrocks (Bubble). You can tell that both actresses just adore her. The casting for this programme was incredibly inspired.

The networks didnt want to carry it because there is no point of recovery. It's glamourization of drugs and drinking is too risky for american viewers with no sense of humour. Personally I've always preferred it on british television.
