@astarothsharp I'm sure califrinia is better suited for you. Try Death Valley. You can drive to the middle of it and get out to enjoy the scenery and just keep on walking for miles and miles.

@jakehorror Thanks. It was definitely an awesome time. We absolutely love Portland!
Yeah, some people love to leave hate. It's unfortunate, but if they feel like showing the world how ignorant and hateful they are, I won't try to stop them :)
I LOVE Oregon! I was born in Albany. I love to visit in the summer and camp on the beach. I love Voodoo Donuts in Portland. I love EVERYTHING about Oregon. Too bad we moved to the south.
Someone keyed 'White Pride" in the door of my truck when I was visiting the Portland Zoo. About two years later, a Swastika in my tailgate while I was in Tualatin, same truck, completely different places, miles apart.
Shit like that has never happened to me in Seattle, not in my whole life.
@olmecbones That's bizarre and totally out of my experience. There are white supremacists in Washington, too, whether or not they visited you in Seattle. Portland is far from being dominated by race hatred though, so your experience isn't indicative, more a matter of bad luck. Yes, there are less blacks in Oregon than Washington, but neither state has very many.
@olmecbones There's a significant Mexican-American population in many parts of Oregon, too. If Oregon was seriously racists, they wouldn't be settling here, but I rarely, if ever, hear of them being harassed.
@olmecbones I see from your channel that you may also be of Mexican descent---well I'm sorry that you got harassed in Oregon. I'm telling you I don't think it's typical. Just down the street from me is a Catholic church where Spanish speaking Latinos meet all the time and have social events. They are all safe and no one bothers them as far as I can tell.
@DavePerry2012 I'm not trying to play a victim and I realize that shit happens everywhere. I'm never hassled anywhere I go (at least not to my face) and most of my family is White (I'm White and Guatemalan).
But if you walk around downtown Portland and then you walk around downtown Seattle you cannot deny that there's a huge difference in diversity.
After what happened to me, I just see Portland that way, not racist, just less comfortable because it's less diverse.
@olmecbones I don't think it's a s bad as your experience suggested. Oregon had some problems with the KKK in the fist half of the 20th century but those days are long gone. I knew a guy in California that hitched a ride to Seattle and on the way, in a town in SW Washington, the guy driving the car insisted on stopping at a white supremacist rally. We in the NW are behind CA in diversity by a long way, I'm afraid. It's too bad, because far more whites here are tolerant than racist.
Respond to this video... One thing I'll strongly suggest is this, though----NEVER feel intimidated as a person of Latino descent to come to Oregon. I've lived here most of my life and if I have ever met a deeply racist person I barely noticed, and if I did I would just laugh at them. Whites are the majority here but liberal whites are the majority within that majority. You may not see that many non-whites here, but you shouldn't feel uncomfortable. You can visit here and be at ease.
@olmecbones Nobody owes you anything. They don't speak to you because you're a total DICK with a chip on his shoulder. Get some class and some manners and then maybe people will be your friend and you won't be so bitter and alone. :)
Just try livin here fo 30 years, if you enjoi defined-seasons, it's not so much fun. We mostly famous fo rain, rain, more rain, sun, and rain. ;) Enjoyed it!
Typically no snow in December/January, but sometimes we get lucky, like once every 5-6 years it snows and actually sticks.
In the mountains, YES, but if you're moving to Portland, you can just about always expect 34 deg and rain, just a couple degrees above 32, but just not quite cold enough to actually snow, so its steady rain and more rain, no big thunder storms or anything like in the south, just rain and gray skies for 9 months straight, you almost forget what blue sky looks like.
@GayWorldOrder At least i get some type of change in Portland, whereas in LA its the same all year around.I like a little bit of season change.Everyday feels the same in LA.Plus way to expensive. Are Hillsboro Beaverton good places to live, raise a family?
@GayWorldOrder What the hell are you talking about??? Portland is VERY VERY VERY gay-friendly. NOBODY even CARES that people are gay. The people are extremely liberal and progressive.Everyone is welcome.
I love road trips!! Looks like y'all had good fun! I think we are going to have to have a duo road trip soon. No Tax is awesome!!! Very cool footage!!

@ruismonster Alas, this footage was actually taken a few months ago, and my lazy ass just got around to editing and posting it. I don't think either of us yet knew the other existed at that time. But I will definitely contact you when we go back :)
@aggiepm alas, we did not. We just walked around downtown mostly. We thought about going to the Japanese Gardens, but ultimately didn't have enough time.
