  • But are from?

  • Cool look with your Pipe, bow tie and suit!

  • Don't put glue in my smoke! Wow, that's crazy glue in there. Love it.

    Proscht

  • I like the suit. Perfect neck tie! Great! /:)

  • im really liking that pip you said it was a gbd what?

  • missouri meerschaums burn clean and import next to no flavor to tobacco, imo. they are very absorbent, so they have a tendency to smoothen out even the roughest smokes. hope you fix your issues with the glue glob. i checked out my MM and didn't see any such globs.

    cheers

  • Hi Dave, Thanks for the comment. I think I will have to take Eric's advice and pick up a higher quality ($6-$8) rather than the $5 level, or jus look in the next one before buying it. I fully intend to try out the cob, as I said in the vid, I think it would add a nice flavor to the tobacco. Best regards - Tim

  • nice looking pipe mate,,,the cobs r decent smokers i like their simplicity and the comfort u get from their maintenance and not to worry abt their loss or defects

    cheers

    ahmad

  • Hi Ahmad, That is one of the main reasons I wanted to try 'em. Your vid with the churchwarden cob also incented me to give em a shot. Thanks for the comment - Best regards - Tim

  • Hoping you and Count Sr will show us your pipe collection. All the best, Chris

  • Hi Chris, Thanks for the interest! I fully expect to have a "collection" vid up very soon. Best regards - Tim

  • Hi Chris: This depends upon what the Fraternity would like to see - antiques, aged briar, or good contemporary smokers, to say nothing of DOA Estate pieces before and after resusitation. Many thanks for your interest. Best regards, The Count

  • Welcome back Tim....I do like a nice Dicky Bow when I'm in a brave mood. Nice poker, a great practical shape. Try not to be too pissed about the cob...they can get a bit sloppy putting the glue on...but I assume it is a none toxic glue...cobs are very much about, "don't worry just go for it". For there quality and price they punch heavy. I'm looking forward to lots of tips from you both. By the way if 'pops' likes amaretto he'll love Peterson's Sunset Breeze.

  • Hi Dubin: I am pretty sure Tim commented on your last vid. Let me tell you it was great - so many really straight and useful tips. On the Gold Spigot, I choked on my poteen (not a figure of speech) when I saw that part of the vid - I about took the gas pipe for you vicariously. You are a braver man than I to have tackled that pipe! Many thanks for the Tips and Compliments. All the Best, Count

  • Got a question. How does one go about joining the pipe collectors association that your pa is a member of?

  • I think you look totally awesome with that suit! And your tie is the best! :D Very handsome.

Congratulations on the new pipe I hope is smoking great!

    Cheers

  • Hi Misa: Many thanks for compliments to Tim, HOWEVER, just for the record the tie is mine!! Best regards, Count

  • Ha ha ha XD ok!!

  • Cobs do impart their flavor to the tobacco for the first few smokes. It's a great flavor. It's gone all too soon as far as I'm concerned. They cake really well too. If the gaps around the shank on the inside bothers you, your dad can take care of that for you. Remind him of our recent convo regarding low heels. He'll know what you mean. Good video Tim. You're developing a knack for this sort of thing.

  • Don't sell MM cobs short. I've got 5 and have had them for years. Great smokers.

  • Great video, Tim, great atmosphere, thanks. And how happy am I that you're rocking the bow tie, great look!

  • Hi Silver: Many thanks for the great compliments. And, yes, Tim does tie the bow ties himself. However, I would like to point out the fact the the tie in the vid is MY Brooks Brothers bow tie. Like pipes by ties get glommed off by Pipephreak, Jr. Again, many thanks. Best regards, The Count

  • I got started on bow ties by snagging my dad's, and it is my great hope that my sons will glom ties off of me when they're older (my 4-year-old already asks/reminds me about his bow tie every Sunday morning).

  • Hi Tim, I enjoyed this conversational video. Thanks for taking time to share a pipe and chat with us!

    With kind regards,

    --David

  • Hi David: Hope you and yours had a great holiday - we sure did. Glad you enjoyed the vid! Best regards, Your Friend, The Count

  • Hi Eric, Thanks for the tip. I will look into that. The "freehand" cobs looked neat too. I will probably call MM and discuss this with them because I think at the least they should be made aware of this defect in production. I fully intend to get a smokable cob some time in the near future and I am sure your recommendations will come in handy. Best regards - Tim

  • Nice vid. Too bad about the cob - will the place you bought it exchange it? If you do call MM, see if you can get a diplomat or country gentleman. Those are a little bigger and nicer I think.

  • Hello Tim, Great video.. Cheers, Tim

  • Hi Tim, Many thanks! Good to see you! Best regards - Tim

  • Tim, Great video as usual. Glad to have another video up!! Those pipes are also very nice. I do like the poker very much. Cannot wait to see your updates and happy to see ya again.

    --Eric--

  • Hi Eric, Many thanks - good to see all of you. I'm looking forward to giving the poker a whirl. It is a neat pipe shape and I am glad I landed a fairly nice specimen. Best regards - Tim

  • Great to see you back...miss "The Count", I enjoyed that kind closeness with my Pops too

  • Hi Indez, many thanks for sentiments expressed. The pipe hobby / art is great fun to begin with but the fact that I can share it with my father makes it that much more special. I am happy to hear that you experienced that also. Best regards, Tim

  • Good to see you back, say hi to the Count

    Cheers

    Brian

  • Hi Brian! Thanks - will do! Good to be back on "The Tube" More on the way - Best regards - Tim

  • Awesome stuff man. I personally love the cobs, but I cant believe theres glue in there! By the way, A little insider-cob information here....There is something about a berry-style blend in a cob pipe near sunset that just puts a man at ease.

  • Hi Travis, That is exactly the nostalgia that I am trying to get at with the cob! Unfortunately MM got a little carried away with the epoxy on this one and skunked it for me! I will see what I can do about this because I want to experience "The Cob" to its maximum potential. Best regards - Tim

  • Is this really a Meerschaum corn cob pipe? Because the "glue" that you mentioned, in fact, is plaster of Paris. But if it is really glue, I am pretty shocked! Nice video, nice pipe and nice stories!

    Regards,

    Guilherme.

  • Hi Guilherme, There is a company in the US called Missouri Meerschaum and they make corn cob pipes. They are pretty low quality but they make a lot of them. The name is a kind of joke about the quality of the pipe. It is not real meerschaum but they are making the joke that in Missouri, the corn cob is what they have that compares with the meerschaum from Turkey. Maybe not that funny, but it has made them a great deal of money. Thanks for the comment. Best Rgrds- Tim and yes, it is a glob of glue

  • about time you posted a video nice to see you back

say hello to your father. ))

  • Thanks falcon, will do - Best regards - Tim
