GRID is not even simulator. I can drift with keyboard and that's not realistic. Cars have different handling in normal races and drift challenges. I recommend Live For Speed and rFactor mods...
It never was advertised as a simulator. While I still maintain that it's a fun game and the drift physics are really good for a mainstream game, it's nowhere close to the sensation of actually drifting. As I'm now retired from GRID, I spend my time drifting on Forza.
HeHe)) now i know where u r ))) And , bout simulators - i use LFS for drift , and i don't think rFactor may be simulator, cause those mods... Those mods created by simple people , and cars settings is taked from nowhere , from the sky lol. On PC the LFS is best physics game i guess.. From everything - i think bout Enthusia on PS2 pretty good, much better than any GT series)))
I first got into Forza two years ago or so, but stopped playing a long time ago. Started back up right after Christmas since I got an HDTV and it looks more crisp now. Before, everything was really blurry, now everything makes sense, lol.
A few things. Amemiya RX-7 is my primary battle car now. I'll whip out a B class 86 for the fun of it. Just recently got sent a Turn 10 Saleen S281 E for having a photo in the Turn 10 Blog. Good stuff. Most of the other time, it's a toss up between Silvias, NSX's and a few random cars.
Dude, with traction control on, you have to use the handbrake with the silvia. With traction control off, you control the car with the gas pedal. You never use the handbrake if you're actually drifting for speed, and not points.
Because I learned to drift with traction control off after learning to drift with traction control on, and know the difference in speed and control. You can drive better without e-brake usage with Trac Ctrl off than with e-brake usage with Trac Ctrl on. Let's have a race and I'll prove it :D.
I learned to drift with every technique imaginable in a few different cars. It's a lot harder for me to describe things now that it's second nature to me.
I did. and I still think you suck. If it's a lot harder for you to describe things now, than why are you? You're doing a pretty horrible job of it. You're just teaching people how to drive with shitty angles and shitty speeds.
Had a look at your movies and they're absolutely terrible.
You want me to teach people how to go at 140mph because that's what it sounds like. Sure, there's speed drift and style drift, which ends up looking better? Style.
If you were a real drifter you'd know that most of this isn't just OMG LET'S DO EXACTLY THIS. You experiment with ideas you've seen and heard to make it better. To make it your own. I'm not going to argue or say who's better because I love doing what I do now.
I do it in the Trueno ones, because I had the traction control on. That was before the Days of me being risky and adventurous and trying it with the traction control off. The only one I've videotaped so far with Trac off is the RX-7. The way I play online is I do half and half. Actually, I drive a tad slower than on the RX-7 video, like 95% speed, but I get the same amount of points as if I was drifting super slow just to catch all the flags. I'm working on getting a Trueno w/ no trac ctrl video
And also Soarer w/ no trac ctrl, and Silvia w/ no trac ctrl. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I just started making the videos, and I thought I'd do the trac ctrl on first so you can see the difference.
I drive fast and am able to get the same amount of points so that I cut off the amount of time people have, because I finish so far out in first that they lose half a lap-2 full laps.
Yo Lego, Nice too see u... but .. Say to me please... How u can Use CLUTCH method on game where no clutch supports for G25?.... Handbrake actually blocks ur rear wheels , while cluch kick dont.... So it s handbrake method , but handbrake here very short ;) Im on G25 too man , im even drift with u so i know what im sayn ;)
There isn't a clutch and technically yes, this is a handbrake technique, but since in real life you hold the clutch when you use the handbrake, a tap produces the same effect as a clutch kick
When you clutch kick, you basically rev your engine, so that makes your rear wheels spin more than they can grip, causing a drift, it can also be used to maintain drifts as you said, because it means more power to the wheels. but you HAVE TO KEEP YOUR FOOT ON THE GAS! because you cant rev your engine without it or youll just drive straight into the wall...making yourself look pretty retarded :P
Play The Fast and furious tokio drift for more realistic drift, but the game is pretty repetative so don't plan to grind this game all week trying to beat it >_>
Ugh, no offense but that game wasn't a good demonstration of realism at all. In my experiences, this is one of the best in producing that effect of realism. As you said though, you are right as how a proper clutch kick is executed, but I try to stay away from a deep explanation of a technique and just touch on the basics as there are a large majority of people watching these who have no idea how to drift in the first place.
PS to all of those who watch these, there will be more episodes soon
what is the first thing you should master?

Drifting is not racing. Drifting is an art form.

Well, instead of arguing about shit, let's put it past us.
Trueno is a lot of fun without TC. Honestly can't wait for the S2000. Doubt it'll replace my S15.
