  • This exercise is for wrestlers and mma fighters to strengthen their necks so they don't have to worry about so many neck injuries like when you get slammed on your head. Your neck is thick enough to keep your head from popping off when all your weight lands on it.

  • As a chiropractic student I can tell you this is not good I cringe while I watch people do bridges. Notice his neck folds in a normally functioning neck you will not have any folds. It is clear that he is hyper mobile around c1-c2 and c5-c6 vertebral levels and hypo mobile in the rest of the neck. This is not good I can guarantee he will have neck problems down the road. If I were his doctor I would be very concerned for a spondylolisthesis at c5!

  • @06livefast As long as you do exercise and stretch the spinal related muscles properly and often, that shouldn't be any concern, as long as you don't put too much stress on them, or you will collapse.

    Mostly because I was having a good run of calling other people posting on neck training videos about how "dangerous" it is (even though more people get injured doing leg presses and cardio than training their neck) pussies and wanted to keep the run going while still being kind of helpful.

    Neck is, in the opinion of a lot of people very important to looking muscular, and especially to looking strong. If you see a big guy (or a tiny guy) with a tiny neck it looks completely wrong.

  • i dont know about how this actually makes the muscle larger, i know it makes it stronger but the TUT for this exercise is not as optimal, if u want a thick neck, buy a neck harness, use that, this is more for wrestlers and boxers but it works too, i hav many variation also, i just go into pushup position but only my feet and forhead touch ground, i essentially hold my whol bodyweight with my neck, even holdin static for good 7-8 seconds will be beneficaial for making a nice thick appealing neck

  • Any exercises done at 65%-75% 1RM for 10-12 reps will increase lean mass. Static exercises also known as isometric contractions are better to strengthen rather then to promote hypertrophy.

    I do them sometimes. Like once a week. I only train boxing now. I got knocked down when we did sparring in karate. I mean hard so I got a lot of nose blood and I saw double for a while.

  • This is just an exercise for the neck to get stronger but it won't make it grow like any other muscle may, the best u can do is to work out deltoids and trapezius exercises, they're the ones that could give you the neck width u want

  • I think you might need to leave a day alternate inbetween each workout, to give the muscle a chance to rest and rebuild stronger&bigger. If you do constant workout daily, on any muscle, it doesnt have time to repair and grow, so you wont see much improvement, that's why its advised to train only 3 times a week max (weights). Increase your reps aswell maybe!

  • thanks for your response.try on lying on a flat bench,on your back with just your neck hanging off the edge.then get a towel and place it on your forehead.then grab a heavy-ish weight and place on towel...then gently rock the head up and down slowly...whilst keeping your hands on the weight.good luck chap!(also combine trap and neck workout every other day)
