@Sttatz no. the ps3 comes with the red, yellow, and white cables. those are standard definition cables. the hauppauge is only HD if you use HD component cables to hook it up. so in short, you need to buy sony brand HD component cables apart from the PVR

@MrTaYo13 No, but if it doesnt have the required slots for all of the cables it wont work, even if you dont have a HD TV you can record in HD because the signal from you xbox goes threw your HDPVR first then to you tv.

This HD PVR does have an input for the composite (red, yellow, white) cables as well as s-video so it will work on a SD tv but not as good as a component with HDTV though. it will be better quality than dazzle or easycap though
