Unless you have driven a DAF 95XF then don't try and understand about what the driver can and can't see. Its an ageing cab design dating back to the mid '80s and has a huge blind spot for about 8ft in front of it. its precisely for this reason that brand new trucks by law are now required to have blind spot mirrors over the n/s of the windscreen.
LMAO The poor trucker finally had enough of the BS! I've felt like doing something like that too. Anybody would with all the disrespect and low pay a trucker puts up with.
@tampabayismyhome That's great! I hope you save at least half of what you net take home pay. (I do.) It's hard, dangerous work. Don't be like so many juvenile nuckleheads and wind up in your 60s and still broke!
@alpineace2003 If you're driving truck you are probably working for a really crappy company if you are receiving"low pay" because there's driving jobs out their that you can make a very nice living at. in Western North Dakota companies are paying tractor tanker operators six figures annually you should check it out. good luck.
@tampabayismyhome Personally, I drive linehaul for an LTL carrier -- I do ok. $80 - 90K on the W-2 every year. It gets boring though, so I'm leaning toward flatbed leading up to heavy haul. I hear it pays ok, but only if you like a challenge. I do.
But, regarding low pay. I was referring to the averages in the occupation. For OTR TL carriers, company drivers average around $35 - 40K; and owner ops gross about $175K - $200, of which $50 - $70K is their personal gross pay after costs...SAD!
@tampabayismyhome THE TRUTH. The avg OTR driver works 65 hrs/wk getting one day off at home per week worked, just to make $40K/yr. That's a 10.83 hr work day, at 313 work days (365 - 52 days off, can't afford to take his 5 vacation days paid at $30/day); comes out to $127.80/work day or $11.80/hour. The 65 hrs/wk could be more if you consider much of the waiting time which would be paid hourly to any worker outside of HOS regs which screw the driver, and give the economy much free labor.
@alpineace2003 I don't know any other way I can explain this to you so type in the search box "Oil Boom in North Dakota" I believe it's the third video down by princessnodak. I don't doubt that you make 40 thousand a year. But i live a pretty good life beautiful home brand new pickup trucks snowmobiles boats and jet skis With a six figure annually income. And I'm home every day.
why is everyone just going right along, and I being the one taking the video would not want to be behind that truck just like these idiots do...That Car could come free and its going to go flying.....
guess the car pissed off the truck driver....if it was done intentionally, would imagine it's grounds for criminal prosecution (attempted manslaughter or equivalent in whatever country this was in)
@nobodybutme1000 It was in England, the case finished today with no charges brought, the driver didn't lose his licence as he didn't see hear or know the car was there. I don't know the circumstances of the car getting where it was though.
the problem is if u u pull of a sliproad or undertake a truck this is the outcome as atruck driver myself although i dont drive them much now if every body took a hgv test instead of a car test that woman probably wouldnt be on the roads but on another note if carlsberg could make an accident this would probabley be the best accident in the world
@FurorVikingorum I was thinking that also but from what you can see if you can see anything of him it looks like he was looking forward but not to say he wasn't when contact was made, but it could've been her passing him on the left and got over too soon only she knows what happened if he truly didn't. cool that it got recorded though.
Until you drive a semi don't say what you can see or feel its because of "truckers" that you get to walk into stores and buy all that you buy they deliver it for you, you make comments about what you don't know about and he could NOT see that car and they don't own the road but like everyone else they pay their taxes to use it so they can get the products where it needs to be not all are great drivers but neither are people driving cars. No I'm not a truck driver but I do respect them!
I don't know what the hell I'd do if I saw that while I was driving, much less if it happened to me. Wasn't she on her way to work or something? Imagine when she told her boss why she couldn't make it that day... bet the boss was like "Your stories get worse and worse."
I drive truck and beleive me you cannot see what is right there in front of you... and if the car was going the same speed he probly didn't even feel the bump....those things are heavy if you've ever driven one.
you are a bit of an a hole arn't you.... commenting on things you know nothing about. you are the sort of twat who says lorry rivers should wear seat belts............ well a lot of good that will do you when there is 40 ton crashing in behind you. Let me tell you my friend, if a truck can pull 40 ton effortlessly , what makes you think a clio will make a differance? you see its idiots like you who make laws and get them passed without knowing anything they are talking about
Sono un autista e impossibile che quella macchina non si sia imputata , ho avuto un incidente simile ma a velocita passo uomo ho fatto 10 m con la macchina di traverso cera stato il contatto in un momento di coda in tangenziale
Guessing: Wet road, woman slid sideways in front of truck, was going almost the same speed as truck so driver probably felt a bump and thought he hit an animal and kept on trucking.
If he's leaning back, he wouldn't see the car where it was stuck.
She couldn't go forward or backward to get off his bumper since she's hydroplaning on the water (very little sparks means the tires must have still been up).
Wondering how did the car got up front ? I have seen this happen a few times myself thats what happens to a driver who thinks i´ll overtake that big one before I get off at the next exit. Believe me the drive knew what was in front of him. She could have put it in reverse :-) This prooves once more that passenger car drivers would rather sit in a rollchair !!.., instead of waiting behind a truck for there junction to come.
suspended? bloody idiot. should have been shot. imagine all the risk posed other motorists. wonder what the highway patrol was doing? Zzzzzzzzzz...................
i thought if it was me i'd stick it reverse and floor it but then ithought i'd just shite my self put my feet through the floor trying to brake and try and stop it fred flintstone style
i suppose it is possible not to notice if your seats far enough back, and i don't think the tyres would screech cos its raining and the rosd would be wet. but the funniest thing about it is the car is trying to brake!!!
O O wow you don't see that everyday..eeee . I think I laughed once because I'm a sick indidvidual..Not mention this is very unusual. Hope everyone is ok in reality..
That is so scarey. The trucker seems oblivious of the car on the front of their truck. Okay, it is obviously a blind spot, but how could you miss the sound of screeching tires?
