@11xzxzxz Classical is alright. It set the foundations for everything we listen to today. Its not something I want to put on my ipod and listen to all day when I stroll around town, but its definitely respectable and can sound pretty nice and relaxing sometimes.

And even than, I can say it doesn't appeal to me, but that I can understand people liking it because its talented. I'm generally not going to just go and call everything I don't like retarded and say nobody should like it.

@demonicpriest I agree with everything you write. Of course, that is really the way I think of classical music too. It can be relaxing and has few pieces I like.  I really don't hate it. Procol Harum stole from Bach and recorded a Whiter Shade of Pale in '67. Some classical seeps into pop and rock.

A lot of early blues artist paved the road for rock & blues but really I almost always think the later bands make a great improvement. I mean Howlin' Wolf wrote & recorded Smokestack Lighten.. but the Yardbirds in '63 or so made they made (imo) definitive version.
