those uniforms were actually brand new last season. they were streamlined and modernized, but kept the same outward appearance as the previous uniforms which had been around since the late 70s or early 80s.

Haha. We do. It's the Navy Blue thing that's right up front on the hats. People don't realize it, but it's there. Tradition is tradition. Take another look. Snares and Sousas don't wear them, but everyone else does.

We did it like that for this turn because its really hard to do a 105 degree gate turn and keep anything resembling straight lines. Doing it this way was much easier.

the majority of the other bands in this besides PSU and USC were high school bands. Pretty sure the only way a university or collegiate band gets to march in it is if your respective teams is playing in the game. but don't quote me on that.

Has USC ever won the Sudler Trophy? It's presented to the best college marching band in the country. Penn State Blue Band won it 2005.

yes actually they have back in the 70's sometime when tusk came about. and i was not stating on field performance i was simply talking about style.. the sudler is based on alla around excellence you could be miss placing a tssle and loose your chances of even receiving it.. but put USC band up against any other in style and music choice and you will see.

In actual fact, USC has NEVER won the Sudler Trophy since its inception in 1982. And if you want to compare marching bands of the nation, out of the 26 years the Sudler has been awarded, the Big Ten has the most trophy winning bands of any conference - 9. The Big 12 has the second most, with 6. The Pac10 has only 2 - ASU and UCLA. So don't try to say that USC's band is anything special - they're obviously not even as good as UCLA. (ouch!)

Hahahahaha greatest marching band in the history of the universe??? I'll agree with you on the fact that there's not really any off-field behavior, but that's the greatest joke I've heard all day. Maybe if USC would march during one of their shows then they could be called a marching band. Every last one of the Division 1 DCI bands is far better than USC, and it shows your arrogance and ignorance if you disagree.
