I have heard it said that astronauts have instruments that reproduce this frequency when in space or human beings become unhealthy when it is removed. I'm not so certain if I understand what is happening. One of the things I fail to understand is how the magnetic field of the earth affects human beings personally, it certainly protects us from the solar wind, yes. But as for our emotions, that sounds sketchy, I'd like to see some peer reviewed research on this demonstrating evidence.

Alot of people refuse to believe in the reversal of the poles, and these people need to use common sense. Magnets are all the same, they follow the same basic principles. All magnets, including the earths magnetic core eventually weaken. Once they hit a certain breaking point the poles of a magnet reverse, and by doing so the magnet is restored to it's original strength.
