Prost won in 1989 in Mclaren Honda, when Honda had favouritism in favour Senna. Prost almost won in 1988, with the same favouritism in favour Senna. That is an strong argument to say Prost was better than Senna. Only in France 88 Prost had his Honda engine as he expected to be. The result was poleposition for Prost, victory, and fastest lap, and that Prost destroyed Senna.

Couldn't agree with you more. Also he was always given preferential treatment at Ferrari, he never had a team mate who was allowed to properly challenge him. And drivers like Senna don't have careers tainted with as much controversy and cheating. The Incidents that happened at Benaton with the illegal fuel rig and the controversial gearbox are just a drop in the ocean. There's also the incident where he crashed into Hill and Villenueve (less successfully) that seem to have been forgotten about.

@DWaq32 Which crashes? As I recall they were all relatively down the middle 50/50 incidents. Some may have been his fault, but every driver makes mistakes. Unfortunately I wasn't actually around in the 80's to see much of Senna's career. But I've seen a lot of archive footage and highlights. But even considering that I would be impressed if you found an incident as blatant as when Schumacher crashed into Hill to win the 1994 title or when he attempted to take out Villeneave in 1997.

I also seem to remember Prost losing the title by half a point because of his unsporting like behavior demanding to have a race stopped for bad weather merely because Senna would have taken the win if the race was allowed to continue (poetic justice). Opinions on any of the 2010 incidenents? Rubens?

The only controversial incident where Michael went away unpunished was the 94 Adelaide incident with Hill. For all other incidents he got penalized very harshly. The Monaco 06 incident was while being distusting, extremely stupid as well. And I don't have to name all the other drivers or teams that did sth against the rules, to put it mildly.

As for being outpaced by nico take 3 years away from anything as hardcore as F1 and your skills will be lukewarm upon your return, in time he will dominate nico.

Yeah because the Williams FW16 with Renault V10 was the fastest car, but ultra nervous. Only Senna could squeeze out that speed. After Imola Schumacher had 30p and Senna 0. If Senna survived it would have been very difficult because no one ever could win a championship with such a high point difference behind.

They can't really be compared but I think they have different excellences. Senna the best qualifier, Schumacher slightly worse in quali but better in race trim. He could do his best laps whenever it was necessary and how long it was necessary. In- and outlaps where his absolute strength, he always could adopt on any circumstances. Most complete driver ever.

i already read schumacher's autobiography, two of it..there's a lot of things that people don't know about him, from his rookie year until his retirement..i think he's one of living legend..we can't compare him to senna, since they have their own achievements, and their era quite different..from the reading, you will know the secrects that he kept for a long time about drving formula one..from that, then you can judge his actions (some of it are quite bizzare) in driving F1..

Prost won in 1989 in Mclaren Honda, when Honda had favouritism in favour Senna. Prost almost won in 1988, with the same favouritism in favour Senna. That is an strong argument to say Prost was better than Senna. Only in France 88 Prost had his Honda engine as he expected to be. The result was poleposition for Prost, victory, and fastest lap, and that Prost destroyed Senna.
Nevertheless, Schumacher was better than both of them...

Senna's career lasted 9 years, and in that period he won 41 races and 3 world championships, against the likes of prost, mansell, piquet and others.
In the same lenght of time, schumacher won 44 races and 3 world championships, with very little opposition.

Couldn't agree with you more. Also he was always given preferential treatment at Ferrari, he never had a team mate who was allowed to properly challenge him. And drivers like Senna don't have careers tainted with as much controversy and cheating. The Incidents that happened at Benaton with the illegal fuel rig and the controversial gearbox are just a drop in the ocean. There's also the incident where he crashed into Hill and Villenueve (less successfully) that seem to have been forgotten about.

@DWaq32 Which crashes? As I recall they were all relatively down the middle 50/50 incidents. Some may have been his fault, but every driver makes mistakes. Unfortunately I wasn't actually around in the 80's to see much of Senna's career. But I've seen a lot of archive footage and highlights. But even considering that I would be impressed if you found an incident as blatant as when Schumacher crashed into Hill to win the 1994 title or when he attempted to take out Villeneave in 1997.

I also seem to remember Prost losing the title by half a point because of his unsporting like behavior demanding to have a race stopped for bad weather merely because Senna would have taken the win if the race was allowed to continue (poetic justice). As for being outpaced by nico take 3 years away from anything as hardcore as F1 and your skills will be lukewarm upon your return, in time he will dominate nico.

Yeah because the Williams FW16 with Renault V10 was the fastest car, but ultra nervous. Only Senna could squeeze out that speed. After Imola Schumacher had 30p and Senna 0. They can't really be compared but I think they have different excellences. Senna the best qualifier, Schumacher slightly worse in quali but better in race trim. He could do his best laps whenever it was necessary and how long it was necessary. In- and outlaps where his absolute strength, he always could adopt on any circumstances. Most complete driver ever.

Curious thing: There's a lot of people talking shit about MICHAEL SCHUMACHER, like they want to demonstrate something, putting a lot effort in it. Why? A lot of reasons: resent feelings, some of Senna fans (I call them "widows"), or another fans who don't want to see our opinion of the F1 history.
Anyway, for me, Schumacher is one of the three titans of this sport, with Fangio and Senna up there. Different skills and times, uncomparable I think.

i already read schumacher's autobiography, two of it..there's a lot of things that people don't know about him, from his rookie year until his retirement..i think he's one of living legend..we can't compare him to senna, since they have their own achievements, and their era quite different..from the reading, you will know the secrects that he kept for a long time about drving formula one..from that, then you can judge his actions (some of it are quite bizzare) in driving F1..
