  • me like it too! :)

  • Cool..

  • Hey that's Dr Edward!

  • This is worth watching. Good for business students.

  • THIS IS GR8 STUFF BY EDWARD...

  • Excellent video well worth watching. Easy to understand and shows the importance of having real honest conversation with people in work and the importance of getting the hiring decision right. Hiring people is an investment decision both for the individual and the organisation. Real engagement comes from within each individual that why Dr Hallowell's model is really powerful.

  • Brilliant. How liberating. I've battled with this question what to do with my life workwise and enjoy it. The 3 intersecting circles is a perfect solution. Thanks Edward! :D

  • This is very powerful! I also read the introduction and the excerpt from the book. Most needed message for todays corporate world.

  • Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again so that all who believe on Him will be saved forever and will have eternal life!

  • @JesusPaid4You and what does it have to do with this topic?

  • very cool as an ambition, but truth is we all have to do some stuff we don't like from day to day. Although I agree we should aspire to do jobs we feel fully fulfilled and inspired by. You can argue with more discussion with your people.

  • Truth hurts .... lot of us are caught up in the emotions that we do not follow our dream or do what we want to do.

Managers are very poor in the recognition of their star performer and their capabilities, as they are threatened.

  • Well, it's so true.

But I think it will confuse the 'already confused' people even more.

I just wish everybody to be smart enough to know what he/she 'really' wants (which is not the case with most people). That includes managers too.

  • Lovely, wonderful....after all we are all cerebral animal.

Dr. Hallowell's analysis is absolutely excellent he is talking your heart out.

    Thanks,

    Deb.

  • The natural solution to your problem if you are an HBS graduate is to make your own job. This is a skill that is rarely taught though, and if you don't have the HBS or impressive accolades, you will have to raise your own money completely on your own and get your clients on the basis of yourself and your sales skills and not the prestige of a Harvard MBA or something else......

  • Though I agree with Dr. Hallowell's assessment on the importance of self-reflection, there is no reason to criticize the single-parent who recently lost her job and scrambles to find another or the recent college graduate staring down a stack of student loans for not finding the ideal job. Particularly in this economic environment, turning down a job for the sake of "finding one's passion" is much harder said than done.

Again, his point is valuable, but his attitude deplorable.

  • True

  • EXACTLY !!!!!!!! SO TRUE
