An NA VR6 with cams and slicks will struggle to even break into the 13's. A 1.8T with a 10cent diode and a cheap Ebay downpipe will hit ~13.3.

I sent you a PM. All 1.8T software advertises around the same HP gains. I have my own dyno if you'd like, dyno dynamics (not dynojet). I've been tuning them for around 7 years. 12.5PSI to 20 will have an effect. And it's not 10 HP. VR6 chipped FYI will net no gains, more timing gives a little better throttle response, that's about it.

Now I dont think I can get that with my VR i did some research and if I installed a chip, cams, Exhaust and a good intake Which would be like $1500 for good shit. wrong on the vr6, i been working on them and i actually have one its a 98 mk3 gti vr6 golf, and i put 1550 on the motor, when i got it it had already headers, exhaust, cold air intake, and a neuspeed chip, well i put those 1550 on cams, and built the head for street and tuned that bish for street racing, and my vr6 its pushing 263 whp with a 281 lbs torque, i been smoke gt's hondas, sr20det, i kept up with a rb20det, and couple other, so its worth to built the vr6
stock vr6 gti or jetta is actually slower than the 1.8t this guy clearly tuned his vr6 i kno the gti might weight slightly less than the jetta but still this is a blow out and he definetly did shit to that vr6.

The HPA single turbo upgrade for a R32 24 valve 3.2L vr6 is $10,000. This doesn't include a clutch, brake upgrade, exhaust, or labor - unless of course, you are a mechanic. I think it is you that needs to learn a thing or two about cars. I have forgotten more than you will ever know about VWs

Obviously, you do not have the first clue as to what you are talking about. Anyone knows that upgrading the internals on a VR6 is only the BASIS for turbo charging the motor.
VR6 is def a better motor, why you say cause it doesn't hide behind a turbo. Doesn't mean turbos are all bad but this motor with some mechanical tuning and a bigger displacement can really pack a punch. Yeah the golf is lighter body wise but the VR6 weighs a bunch more than the 1.8T does up front. So the guy with the VR got a lot of weight to tug around there to begin with. VW all the way for me but I would totally grab the VR anyday before the 1.8 T. Just my opinion
I agree, but the 1.8 T is much much easier to modify than the VR6. I don't know anything about displacement mods on the VR6 but I know there is a lot more power to be had from turbo/supercharging a VR6 than there is with a 1.8T. I could only imagine how much work would be involved with modding a VR6 and I shudder to think :)
Yeahhh it's prolly a little more challenging then the 1.8 T for sure but more satisfying in the long run if you ask me. Plus the sound you can get from the VR I mean that is to die for there. the VR6 is a better motor, the 1.8T head has a flaw that resticts the intake coming into the engine. BUT i would still go with the 1.8T because turbo cars are fun as fuck to drive, even stock. i've got a 2003 1.8T jetta 5 speed that looks identical to the one in the video, it just clicked on 178,000 miles and it still runs like it did when i first got it.

not bad, my buddy's 1.8t produces 207 hp and 230 lb-ft with nothing but the revo chip ecu flash. He has a sport clutch as well and a K&N filter so his hp might be a bit higher than the claim. what is yours a 1.8t as well with the ecu flash? if so then i know how quick it actuallly is
depending on the type of motor (between 150-180hp for the golfs). But if your looking hp to hp, theyre pretty equal. MK3 Vr6 push 174hp with 172lbs of tourque, the only edge it has is power to weight, not much of a surprise it won.
There are 2 types of 1.8t engines. AWW and the AWP. The AWW has 150hp. And the AWP has 180hp pushing about 8-10 factory psi. From the factory the vr6's have the edge. But WAY more tuning capability for the 1.8t. I invest LESS that $1000 into my engine and have 205whp. And would murder that vr6 :)

Most BLUE underbody neons add 100hp alone; its the red and yellow that dont add that much HP. Plus oversize wings give 5hp per every 3 inches of wing, so you could have over 300whp.
both u guys r slackin. i got a wing on my car that in total has added about 80hp, plus i got my blu underbody neons and blu neons on the inside...i got 200 hp from all the neons together...plus my 15 stickers each addin about 10 hp...thats 430 hp wit out liftin my hood...beat that...lol

stock vr6 gti or jetta is actually slower than the 1.8t this guy clearly tuned his vr6 i kno the gti might weight slightly less than the jetta but still this is a blow out and he definetly did shit to that vr6.

I would like to reply to what you said but I don't have a clue what the fuck your talking about. Better internals? Do you actually have a vw or you just talking shit? My turbo spools at 2500 rpm up to about 5300 I am about to buy a stage3 apr kit which will make 290hp on pump gas and 0ver 330hp on 100. And you ???????

The HPA single turbo upgrade for a R32 24 valve 3.2L vr6 is $10,000. This doesn't include a clutch, brake upgrade, exhaust, or labor - unless of course, you are a mechanic. I think it is you that needs to learn a thing or two about cars. I have forgotten more than you will ever know about VWs

VR6 is def a better motor, why you say cause it doesn't hide behind a turbo. Doesn't mean turbos are all bad but this motor with some mechanical tuning and a bigger displacement can really pack a punch. Yeah the golf is lighter body wise but the VR6 weighs a bunch more than the 1.8T does up front. So the guy with the VR got a lot of weight to tug around there to begin with. VW all the way for me but I would totally grab the VR anyday before the 1.8 T. Just my opinion

I agree, but the 1.8 T is much much easier to modify than the VR6. I don't know anything about displacement mods on the VR6 but I know there is a lot more power to be had from turbo/supercharging a VR6 than there is with a 1.8T. I could only imagine how much work would be involved with modding a VR6 and I shudder to think :)

Yeahhh it's prolly a little more challenging then the 1.8 T for sure but more satisfying in the long run if you ask me. Plus the sound you can get from the VR I mean that is to die for there. I don't mean to sound all american and be like oh god bigger motor go big fast! But in this case I just want a little more grunt and torque and you are right give them a turbo and good lord hold on! haha Butttt you don't have too there is other things and I'm def a fan of NA tuning

Good comment grmcrslz, when I posted that comment i did consider the 'noise' issue and say to myself, "no 1.8T sounds anywhere near as good as a VR6" :) Although I have a VR6 so i'm a little biased there. Definitely though, the VR6 sounds incredible.

the VR6 is a better motor, the 1.8T head has a flaw that resticts the intake coming into the engine. BUT i would still go with the 1.8T because turbo cars are fun as fuck to drive, even stock. i've got a 2003 1.8T jetta 5 speed that looks identical to the one in the video, it just clicked on 178,000 miles and it still runs like it did when i first got it.

not bad, my buddy's 1.8t produces 207 hp and 230 lb-ft with nothing but the revo chip ecu flash. He has a sport clutch as well and a K&N filter so his hp might be a bit higher than the claim. what is yours a 1.8t as well with the ecu flash? if so then i know how quick it actuallly is

1.8t's push about 180 hp and i think the vr6's push about 200hp. its no wonder the golf won its alot lighter than that jetta

depending on the type of motor (between 150-180hp for the golfs). But if your looking hp to hp, theyre pretty equal. MK3 Vr6 push 174hp with 172lbs of tourque, the only edge it has is power to weight, not much of a surprise it won.

There are 2 types of 1.8t engines. AWW and the AWP. The AWW has 150hp. And the AWP has 180hp pushing about 8-10 factory psi. From the factory the vr6's have the edge. But WAY more tuning capability for the 1.8t. I invest LESS that $1000 into my engine and have 205whp. And would murder that vr6 :)

The engine code is stamped on the head to the left of the fuel rail. You'll just have to ask the seller what the engine code is on the car.

Most BLUE underbody neons add 100hp alone; its the red and yellow that dont add that much HP. Plus oversize wings give 5hp per every 3 inches of wing, so you could have over 300whp.

both u guys r slackin. i got a wing on my car that in total has added about 80hp, plus i got my blu underbody neons and blu neons on the inside...i got 200 hp from all the neons together...plus my 15 stickers each addin about 10 hp...thats 430 hp wit out liftin my hood...beat that...lol
