4months later and I still don't understand how public health care infringes on my freedom. In fact, it expands it. I don't worry about losing my coverage because an insurance adjuster decides so, or my house or retirement saving due to an emergency health bill. I am free from such concerns.

Truth is, my day to day life is very similar to yours. It is foolish and arrogant to think that Americans are the only free people in the world. For you freedom is a matter of affordability.

It is called choice, between different health care companies, or the freedom not to buy health care insurance. And the freedom to not have to pay for others health care. @kingsdun Fellow Canadian has an answer. More government spending = less consumer spending. The money the government spends comes from you and me. Now if the government spends that money better than we do that's a good thing but is that usually the case?

They could have lowered taxes and payroll withholding rates immediately. Instead, they're redistributing wealth with checks that won't even start coming out until MAY.
