As a guitarist, I would like to just say that GH and RB make some songs, like this one, way harder to play than if you were to just play them on a real guitar. The chorus to this song is one of the most simple to play on an actual guitar. These games make it a bit harder. The same goes for the solo. I don't think that I would even be able to play the solo on these games on expert. However on guitar I can and its very easy.Moving on to my vote though, I say GH because RB is just copying GH.

And Rock Band's drum set allows more creativity for the Rock Band charters(people who put the notes down for you to play in-game). In 90% of all drum fills they use the snare and three toms. With GH4 that's impossible to chart correctly, but with RB it's easy.

I really overall like the Harmonix series much better than what Activision has done with the GH series... GH3-GH:WT had a crappy track, but the games with Harmonix running it are much better...

But in gameplay terms, the GH series is overall much harder, and RB is just nice to get into... Bass on RB should be much better though, but everything else should be quite the same.
