A *lot* of ignorance here. Religion has never done anything good? We owe some of the finest artwork ever created to religion, right off the bat, whether you're religious or not, this is fact. Look at St. Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel, etc.. And many religions are the antithesis of one another, so to group all in one is just ignorant and wrong.

No, its just conidered "taboo" in some places to play it, for a number of possible reasons:
1: Everyone tries to play stairway, a lot of times terribly, and music enthusiasts don't want people butchering a legendary song
2: There are schools of thought that Zep was satanic (I don't believe it) and if u play stairway backward its supposed to be a calling for satan of some sort...
3. In mochary of Waynes World

There is actually some belief that Stairway was about Galadrial of Lord of the RIngs, because LOTR was based largely around Norse legend and mythology, as was J. R. Tolkein's area of expertise.
