  • those rims on that car are beatiful

  • What kind and size are the rims?

  • TSW Kyalami

  • A stock LS1 will put about the same power as this one but much less torque. I don't have any twisting problem so I don't see you having any unless your car is not solid (rust etc.).

  • @c332moto i was thinking of doing an LS1 swap in mine but no one is using a manual tranny like you. What trans are you using and did you have to do anything to it to handle the power.

  • There are many LS1s with manual trany. Go to fiero.com and search for it. Actually 99% of LS engine swaps in Fieros are stick shift. I am using a 6 speed from a 2006 Pontiac G6.

  • @c332moto thats the one i was planning on using but i hear the first to second gearing isn't so great. how do you like it? ever run it at a strip?

  • @xTHExWASPx There are not too many choices. Yes 1st is short but with over 300whp/300wtq in a Fiero I think your traction issues will be bad with whatever you use. Haven't had time to run at local track yet. Is so fun at street that I don't care much about track times ;-)

  • is there some way to sure the chassis up on these cars? im putting and LS1 in mine and am looking for ways to make her a lil stronger so i dont twist it on a launch

  • proflashrtist Chassis will probably not bend until you get within 1000 hp range like in 9 second dragsters or better. In 300 hp range this isn't a problem yet.

  • @V8Fiero2M8 hah thats why im asking.. i went upwards of 300 a while ago

  • Nice run...I haven't bothered to dyno mine, it doesn't really matter, the car is fast enough. I figure I'd get somewhat close to your numbers. Do you have any approx. flywheel HP and torque numbers. My ZZ4 with LT4 HOT cam and 1.6 GMPP roller rockers is rated at 398 HP and 420 some lb/ft in torque. These are ratings with a carb, so with EFI it might be a tiny bit higher.

  • What intake are you using? A stock ZZ4 (355/405) with similar setup put 309hp/356tq @ wheels so I guess this is around 350hp/400+tq at crank.

  • Using an all Accel TPI Street Ram only, I'm no longer using their ECM. I'm using a Camaro custom programmed ECM with a Painless harness. Several performance mags said the higher flow Accel TPI was good for over 400 HP engines which is why I went with it (even though it required some strut tower cutting) because stock TPI systems were designed for less than 300. I have to use a custom sized runner gaskets because the stock TPI ones are tiny.

  • Yep. Those are the same gasket I had to use with my AS&M runners. Take it to the dyno and get the real number! ;-)

  • Great Fiero! Have you managed to get a comment from Shawn the sbc basher? He has several aliases: cletusbuildsgarbage etc.
