  • Do you think MTH will make 8800-8900 series engines? If they don't already...

  • @DieselSmoke92 I've asked them some time ago and they said there were to many differences between the models. I had even offered them prototype photos of that series.

  • @cn8800 Someone will definatly make them in the future don't worry. I'd buy the 8800 or 8900 one since its the start of the series...or i also like the idea of 8911 lol.

  • @DieselSmoke92 I agree, I'd buy them too! I'd like to get 8888 :)

  • @cn8800 I've seen 8800, 8900...just waiting to see 8000...and i did see 8888 those are the main special ones and 8911 i saw. BTW What other engines do you have for your layout?

  • @DieselSmoke92 I use all modern equipment. Intermountain, MTH, Atlas, Tower 55, Athearn/Genesis and Kato.

  • @cn8800 I'm going to get a Athearn HO Scale IC SD70 & also Intermountain CN SD40-2W w/ Sound...are these good? if not a KATO SD40-2 but the SD40-2W looks awesome by IM.

  • @DieselSmoke92 The Genesis IC sd70 are very hard to find. I have one that I've added details to. I have 2 of the IM SD40-2Ws coming. I like the drives in them. The Katos are great runners, I've had the SD40-2 and it worked great but I'm leaning more to the wide cab version.

  • @cn8800 I already found the Athearn Genesis IC SD70 #1015 i might buy. Who else makes good ones? Also that IM SD40-2W looks HAWT. What roadnumbers are you purchasing? and where?

  • Where can I buy this exact locomotive?

  • @DieselSmoke92 I'm not sure where you are going to find 1. I'm still trying to get a the 3rd number. I've asked MTH if they will do the run again or do a new run of CN units. They havn't answered yet. I've even been watchin ebay and they havn't been coming up.

  • @cn8800 I just want the MTH CN SD70M-2 with sound thats all. Not any specific numbers.

  • i sent mine in to MTH for repair. but they told me that CN and florida east cost line SD70M both don't flash when you blow the horn.

  • @elr2141979 That is correct elr, here in Canada they do not flash at all when the horn is activated. I'm not sure on the FEC though.

  • @elr2141979 The only CN locos with ditchlights are former DMIR units.

  • Thanks kindly. I kind of suspected that it had something to do with changing a CV. I'll leave it as is for the time being.

  • Great vignettes of your SD70M-2. The only problem I have had with my new SD70M-2 is that I can not seem to get the ditch lights to work when I blow the horn - any suggestions.

    Thanks,

    Harry

  • @hoggersouthawk They don't work at all or you would rather them go on/off like the US ones do??? If that's what you are looking for it's just a matter of changing a CV value, not sure which one though.
