this year iI was in a bar with friends and we got talking to a group of men

and one of them said he owned of run Club 82 from 75/76 I think he said

his name was Frankie, and he turned it into a disco, I dont know if its true

but we had a good time that night singing 70s songs.

  • I lov e this zipster, I remember all the name you mentioned. Although I was only like 14 years old, i hung there quite often, I remember tommy he was so sweet. And I LOVED JOBRIATH, "i am a man" are u on Facebook? I'd love to chat up some stories.

  • @Splithorn Terry Roth on Facebook.

  • thank you Zippy and it WAS amazing and your telling of it is amazing! all these years after that era i still have my craphole E. Vill apt on 4th Street (it is 82 E. 4th St), looking across 2nd ave at that spot. To this day in my mind i see the neighborhood I loved, it's the memory of that seething angry gorgeous messed-up but righteous thing that was happening here ,,,

  • THANK YOU for your stories!!

  • Now I wonder ... is this like the other vid where you later said that you made it up ?? LoL Unless you say you made this up, i'll believe it. now the alligator story ... ? the jury is still out on that one :D hehe

  • I did NOT make this up!! And Jane, the alligator, is a true story too!!

  • ...it was jus me teasin ya zippy...

  • That was no femme......

  • Fantastic!! I can't believe you witnessed Debbie Harry smashed in a phone booth what a tale... wish I was around in those times I love the music from that era. Thanks for the stories!!

  • i hate when that message thing happens!!

  • Champagne - all wine - has histamines in it. The best way to avoid a fermented grape hangover is antihistamines. (You've met so many famous people! So cool!)

  • i wonder what John Lennon thought when you didn't want to meet him

  • Wow you have really been around the music biz! Too bad about John though...

  • It sounds like you still are flabbergasted!

"I could ben a famous hair dreser by now, but nooo I had to go and start a baand.Frikkin Beatles" Okay that whole sentence was just the shit! Oh and by the way, the pop corn is wonderful, thanks for the recomendation! lol

  • Turning down meeting John Lennon, that alone...I am jealous. Though John Lennon is everything to us Beatle fans. I would be in awe of you zipster if you did meet him.

  • You are a treasure. I just discovered this wonderful video, and an anxious to learn more about you. A kick!

  • Hey Zip, I've always been a big fan of yours and I've loves the music you shared but this is just incredible! I had no clue what an interesting life you've had. I'm slowly working through all your videos and I'm excited to see everything else!

  • Fabulous.

  • Wow, that's amazing. Roxy Music is fantastic. Too bad Bowie was such a wanker though. I still like him though. :-P

  • A famous Rich Hairdresser? That is absolutely halarious!

  • Did Jimmy Hook send you here?? LOL!!

  • Hehe--Yep, I did! He's doing research--So am I ;)

  • Omg! You had me laughing out loud, T-eh-Zip! You are just amazing at telling stories! If you have more from 82, I would love to hear it! (David and I never really clicked after that. - ROFL!)

  • what a great story, iam so glad you are sharing part of your life with us,i hope to hear more of your punk glam stories oxoxox

  • captivating story, you've a great memory

  • haa.. HILARIOUS! ZIP, you know everybody...

thats also sorta unfair.. the older people always have som much to talk about ^^ i could tell you about my birth and my first day in school, but thats it :D

  • Being old is cool for this reason. Live life, and you will have stories like this to tell the dumbass young folk.

  • I enjoy hearing you talk. I always wonder what lives were like before the time that I live... it seems everyone seems to think that the here and now is the only here and now that has ever been.

  • ruined your life by getting you into music, frikkin Beatles....ROFL

  • "I will puke right on his shoes" ROFL!!

  • This is one of my favorites of your videos! Love your stories.

  • Tell us a Todd story. Please.

  • Todd who??

  • The reason why APF showed up everywhere in limos. Wasn't that you who told me this?

  • Um, I don't recall a Todd. The only Todd I know is Rundgren and he certainly didn't supply us with a limo.?

  • Yeah, that's the same Todd. Have you a story?

  • I have a good story about his "munchkins" guitar player, Craig Bolin, but not Todd?

  • It wasn't you who said that Todd said no matter what you're getting paid for the gig, show up like you're paid a million and that's why the band always showed up in that limo? Mustv'e been one of the band, then, and obviously not true. So tell us another story...very entertaining.

  • great story buddy keep them comming :-)

  • Shoulda kicked that bodyguard's ass!

  • Zippy, you're hilarious :P I'd kick you for not meeting John Lennon too... He's sort of my hero as well.

  • i LOVE your stories!!! please keep them coming.

  • WOW...can't wait for the next story Zip...soooo interesting.

  • Why was Debbie Harry always so drugged out? I remember seeing her on TV when I was little. Even I could tell that she was FUBAR! She's a great singer and she can act too! What else can you tell us about her? Check out some of her vids on here. ;)

    tc,

    Lindsay

  • 10 minutes? Wow. The monkey are working hard tonight.

  • Zip, When you preform you totally mesmerize! (To this very day!) Bowie was just jealous, because he can't do that without all the lights, props, make-up and effects. OUCH! What a blow to his ego that must have been!

    Keep Rockin'Bud!

  • Finally! Love the Club 82 stories, Zip! One day, after you get famous from youtube, I'll be telling people about how I knew YOU!

  • And I'll be telling them that I knew YOU!! Thanks, buddy!!

  • What a great video! Thanks for sharing all those stories! I can't wait to hear more!

  • The man gives bowie shit!!! right on Zip! This was an awesome period of music history.. I hope you do tell more stories about it dude.. its just awesome...

  • John, You ARE in my house...I feel like it anyway...except I'd have to get more ashtrays!

  • haha bring em on! let the party begin :)

  • Zip! Hope you read this. I'm an old soul you can probably tell by choice of music lol. You make us feel like we are in your house. I made a Brandy Alexander and this is the best 10 minutes on YouTube. Continued ...

  • Lennon wrote a post card in 79 to Ringo saying, "That's what y'all should be doin - Blondie, Heart of Glass. Simple and Perfect" You were there at the beginning of it all. Wow. And I am sorry you didn't meet Lennon. You were indeed an inspiration to them and had he lived, he would have gone in the Blondie Zipster direction. Influence is influence. Thank you!

    - John Reagan

  • Absoutely loved the stories, Zip! I sometimes think that I was meant to be born 20 years earlier so I'd be able to experience the 60's & 70's. Everybody I talk to that's older has nothing but the best of memories from those times, and it makes me so jealous to hear just how awesome it really was!

  • if you have a night out- and its all a blurr- you know you had a good time!

  • Yeah...it WAS you I was talking to!! Dude, thanks for inspiring this rant!! My best to you!

  • Hi Zipster. I'm the one who saw you at Club 82. We exchanged messages a couple nights ago. Thanks for the story. It takes me back. I was on the audience end of the scene (but on stage in off off broadway theatre). It was an amazing time. I sent you a response video earlier with a song for you. I hope you like it.
