I lov e this zipster, I remember all the name you mentioned. Although I was only like 14 years old, i hung there quite often, I remember tommy he was so sweet. And I LOVED JOBRIATH, "i am a man" are u on Facebook? I'd love to chat up some stories.
thank you Zippy and it WAS amazing and your telling of it is amazing! all these years after that era i still have my craphole E. Vill apt on 4th Street (it is 82 E. 4th St), looking across 2nd ave at that spot. To this day in my mind i see the neighborhood I loved, it's the memory of that seething angry gorgeous messed-up but righteous thing that was happening here ,,,
Now I wonder ... is this like the other vid where you later said that you made it up ?? LoL Unless you say you made this up, i'll believe it. now the alligator story ... ? the jury is still out on that one :D hehe
Fantastic!! I can't believe you witnessed Debbie Harry smashed in a phone booth what a tale... wish I was around in those times I love the music from that era. Thanks for the stories!!
Champagne - all wine - has histamines in it. The best way to avoid a fermented grape hangover is antihistamines. (You've met so many famous people! So cool!)
"I could ben a famous hair dreser by now, but nooo I had to go and start a baand.Frikkin Beatles" Okay that whole sentence was just the shit! Oh and by the way, the pop corn is wonderful, thanks for the recomendation! lol
Turning down meeting John Lennon, that alone...I am jealous. Though John Lennon is everything to us Beatle fans. I would be in awe of you zipster if you did meet him.
Hey Zip, I've always been a big fan of yours and I've loves the music you shared but this is just incredible! I had no clue what an interesting life you've had. I'm slowly working through all your videos and I'm excited to see everything else!
Omg! You had me laughing out loud, T-eh-Zip! You are just amazing at telling stories! If you have more from 82, I would love to hear it! (David and I never really clicked after that. - ROFL!)
thats also sorta unfair.. the older people always have som much to talk about ^^ i could tell you about my birth and my first day in school, but thats it :D
I enjoy hearing you talk. I always wonder what lives were like before the time that I live... it seems everyone seems to think that the here and now is the only here and now that has ever been.
It wasn't you who said that Todd said no matter what you're getting paid for the gig, show up like you're paid a million and that's why the band always showed up in that limo? Mustv'e been one of the band, then, and obviously not true. So tell us another story...very entertaining.
the beatles are the ones who ruined your life by getting you into music...you could have been a rich hair dresser by now...lmfao! You are too much! Love it!
Wow Zip, that awesome performance followed by this fantastic story, dude, you're gonna own YouTube if you keep this stuff up! If you ever get to Philly we've got to get together man!
Wow, you turned down Lennon?! As for Bowie, I've always heard he was snooty in real life anyway. Anyhoo, I'm fascinated with your stories... Glad to hear there's more of them on the way!
Puke on his shoes! LOL! I think that would have been a moment in his life he probably wouldn't have easily forgotten! Maybe you should have puked on his shoes, it could have changed history. :) :P
Why was Debbie Harry always so drugged out? I remember seeing her on TV when I was little. Even I could tell that she was FUBAR! She's a great singer and she can act too! What else can you tell us about her? Check out some of her vids on here. ;)
Zip, When you preform you totally mesmerize! (To this very day!) Bowie was just jealous, because he can't do that without all the lights, props, make-up and effects. OUCH! What a blow to his ego that must have been!
The man gives bowie shit!!! right on Zip! This was an awesome period of music history.. I hope you do tell more stories about it dude.. its just awesome...
Zip! Hope you read this. I'm an old soul you can probably tell by choice of music lol. You make us feel like we are in your house. I made a Brandy Alexander and this is the best 10 minutes on YouTube. Continued ...
Lennon wrote a post card in 79 to Ringo saying, "That's what y'all should be doin - Blondie, Heart of Glass. Simple and Perfect" You were there at the beginning of it all. Wow. And I am sorry you didn't meet Lennon. You were indeed an inspiration to them and had he lived, he would have gone in the Blondie Zipster direction. Influence is influence. Thank you!
Absoutely loved the stories, Zip! I sometimes think that I was meant to be born 20 years earlier so I'd be able to experience the 60's & 70's. Everybody I talk to that's older has nothing but the best of memories from those times, and it makes me so jealous to hear just how awesome it really was!
Hi Zipster. I'm the one who saw you at Club 82. We exchanged messages a couple nights ago. Thanks for the story. It takes me back. I was on the audience end of the scene (but on stage in off off broadway theatre). It was an amazing time. I sent you a response video earlier with a song for you. I hope you like it.
I'D LOVE TO MEET U

Todd who??
Zipster08 5 years ago
The reason why APF showed up everywhere in limos. Wasn't that you who told me this?

Um, I don't recall a Todd. The only Todd I know is Rundgren and he certainly didn't supply us with a limo.?
Zipster08 5 years ago
Yeah, that's the same Todd. Have you a story?
