The simulation is off. I can't figure out if its meant to be maple syrup or golden syrup. Its too thin to be golden syrup, yet its too thick to be maple syrup.

@uhbygv852 basically it's a hardware limitation. However technology moves so fast and we can find amazing stuff even in realtime, for instance check Cryengine 3...

@uhbygv852 im no expert so dont for a second mistake me as one, but i do know that at the moment high quality renderings like these have to be preloaded in a way, meaning that it isnt "realtime" computing, so it couldnt be put into a game unless it was prescripted, not allowing it to change or react to any changes

@uhbygv852 CGI is pre-rendered and can take up to an hour per frame. Games need to update at rates of 60 frames a SECOND and higher. Trying to pull that off with CGI just isn't going to happen.

Incredibly well done...there is just one flaw imo..some of the sounds you inserted to "sell" the reality feel, lessen the realism instead. The zoom sound for example is too prominent, it should be way subtler. Except for that, top notch work..

Then you've missed the point of the work. Fact is, this COULD be used and may even be preferred over a live shot in a variety of situations. Given any number of scripted variables the setup you see could conceivably be reactive to its environment. Say for instance if that table were on an airplane and the pilot just hit turbulence.. Aside from the amazing achievement of getting THIS scene to look real, I'm sure the designer learned quit a bit in the process of making it.

There is something off about fluid simulations... I can't quite place it, but especially in the beginning, it doesn't give off the 'aura' of being a thick, sticky fluid. Syrup doesn't have the same forward thrust as water would when the bottle is first tipped over... there isn't a wave of liquid forcing it out... at least not with Mrs. Butterworth ;)
