smcpherson- What great fighters out there in middleweight "walk around" at 185? Dropping 15-20 lbs for a fight is normal. Silva is great. He is no Fedor but he is still great. Cutting weight is part of the fight game. The real test would be to see if Fedor could cut to light heavy or middle and dominate there. He could lose the weight if he wanted, but does he want that? I know Silva will stay where he is winning until he gets beat and then he will be looking for another class.

As MMA grows the UFC will be too small to accomodate too many fighters. And many will get sick of Dana White's god syndrome and shitty contract terms. Eventually some top fighters will move on to Affliction and Strikeforce where they can be champions and still make fat paychecks.

Further down the road I think MMA will end up like boxing with three main regulatory bodies ....and three championship belts to fight for in each weight class.

Yes, they paid a reported $70M for Pride FC and I think their parent Co. owns WEC. I think Strikeforce has a lucrative TV contract which could help them remain independent.

Arlovski was out striking Fedor and kept him back with kicks. Arlovski became too confident and slipped, than got KTFO. Although Fedor was being knocked around with Arlovski kicks, he could have easily taking it to the ground and submitted him or ground and pound.
