Nice, I used to have a '89 Alpina B10 3.5, I got 270kmh out of her, really smooth and controlled at that speed. I also had a 1997 535i these 5 series in my opinion are well built, fast, well handing, and good value for money second hand. I am currently loking for another manual 535i or 540i to strip out as a track car. :-)

But hey, go for the 540 man, trust me, you will have allot more fun with it than the E420. the E420 is definetly very luxury, but the thing I dislike about mercedes are the seats, much rather prefer bmw seats. so much that can be done to the 540 bmw, not so much to the E420 mercedes.
