  • Too bad they used up the first eight of their 15 minutes of fame with this song. They used up the last 7 minutes of their fame, with no repeat success, on their 1999 album, "Seven More Minutes."

  • AHHHHHHH nostalgia... of 3 years ago when I first heard this song lmao

  • I am happy it's subtitled

  • thumbs up if mike from paintballtechpb sent you here

  • I don't think there's a single expression of emotion in this entire video.

  • In this video, I see Cherielynn miming on the Moog Opus-3 and Jim on the Source.

  • Ahhh, love it.

  • what ever happened to the layered harmonies?

and i never thought i would like keyboards so much.

  • discovering all these bands. love this and that dog.

    fantastic fuzz power pop.

  • I cant tell if thats pat on drums. but it sure as hell looks like him.

  • @MrPrestonWeezer it is.

  • @MrPrestonWeezer That is pat on drums.

  • Band politics, blah, blah, blah...who the hell is this "P" guy? I kinda want to kick his ass!!!

  • most underrated band of the 90s

  • Comment removed

  • @BeTrueAlwaysMegaMan 1995. This song was made in 1995 and the video was recorded in the same year. WMG acquired the copyright in 2005.

  • @BeTrueAlwaysMegaMan nope. Look it up. Return Of The Rentals was 1995. Before Pinkerton was released. Woops.

  • Not a fan of the vocals, aside from the backup singers. The actual music is mega bad ass.

  • @KoolThing14 Wow....... The VOCALS ARE FUCKING AWESOME!!!

  • @BeTrueAlwaysMegaMan That's fine that you think so, I just don't think that Matt Sharps singing in this song is very good, not fond of the lyrics either. I just think Sharp makes a better backing vocalist. You have your opinion; I have mine. Woo hoo democracy! High five!

  • Comment removed

  • @KoolThing14 Il high five that one!

  • gimmie some p. babe......

  • I didn't know Glenn Beck fronted a band.

  • I didn't know Glenn Beck fronted a band.

  • Man, what was up with 90's videos? Did everyone have to look like miserable shits when performing. Anyway, brings back a lot of good memories.

  • i once banged a girl who looks like violin chick. now i want to bang her again

  • 17 people are die hard weezer fans

  • Favorite song of the 90's! Love it!

  • this album was the shit!! brings back great memories of being a teen, gettin lit with my friends.

  • he kept the music weird and 80's ish

  • they changed their style a bit when he left

  • im sorry i used to love weezer so much, but i dont know what it is,but i just didnt like them once he left the band

  • @alexfnsmith11 Matt was the "spokesperson" of Weezer in their early years, which allowed Rivers to remain in a little anti-social bubble, wherein he had amazing inspiration to write the great songs that he had.

When Matt left, he had to take on that role, which lead to him beginning to write increasingly mainstream sounding songs.

Also, Matt provided freaking awesome falsetto harmonies.

  • @63chicago6 I still think Weezer's songs are pretty great compared to what's our today though...

  • @MsDoodleydoo True, true. They seem to have some of that 90's spirit left in them

  • @alexfnsmith11 Oh don't be sorry, I'm a huge Weezer fan, I've seen em live 3 times now, but Blue Album and Pinkerton were their high note, and a lot of it has to do with Matt Sharp being in the band. I miss his falsetto backing vocals, so good

  • @IEatBananas your sooo right the blue is the way to go it sucks because i never knew about pinkerton album in tell like a year latter.. it never got any air play at all so back in the 90s it was hard to keep track on indie music..

  • @IEatBananas So true.

  • @IEatBananas ye I'm on same boat as you , but id say the green album and make believe were good as well, but when Matt left so did a bit of Weezer, he was and will forever be their best bassist and i admire how he stuck to his guns but also i hate thinking of what could have been with him and weezer

  • @IEatBananas Agreed, banana eater.

  • @jiggyy Gettin Jiggyy wid it!

  • I just realized that the whole song is about a palm reading

Still don't know who "P" is exactly though

  • @mastermurru "P" is Ric Ocasik (I know I'm spelling that horribly wrong)'s wife! He was in The Cars and produced some of Weezer's albums which, of course, Matt Sharp was in at the time.

  • @AnimalHouseVetVideos Thanks! So Paulina Porizkova is the subject.

I see this is all written about on wikipedia's entries for Ric Ocasek, Paulina Porizkova, and The Return of the Rentals. Cool story!

  • @AnimalHouseVetVideos ... it also explains why the subtitles of the video are in Cyrillic script (Porizkova being Czech)

  • @AnimalHouseVetVideos Not his wife ?

  • I'm a good guy for a gall

  • i absolutly love this song. i could cry.

  • Kinky Germans are friends of pee.

  • @clownnookie Ha!

  • who the hell is "P" anyway?

  • @dreekd80 "P" is the "Psychic friends network" which had an infomercial all over the TV in the '90's.

  • @skunkape2

Thanks, could be - except they don't read palms over the phone. I worked for them in 1996.

  • @mastermurru So you're the one who told me I'd marry a supermodel and be a millionaire by age 30. Guess what?, none of that happened.

  • @dreekd80 I remember those. It had that one actress, I can't remember her name. She was a black lady from the 70s I think. Now the lyrics make sense. Thanks.

  • @dreekd80 Ha, Dionne Warwick!

  • Glad to see this up again. One of my favorite songs and videos from my time.

  • 1995 had the weirdest videos of all time.

  • 1.00 - 1.09 Patrick's little movement forward makes me laugh every time.

    Ahh, this band are great!

  • I am very good friends with you P!!!!!

    r

  • i'm glad that the whole "good-looking girl made up to look like a frumpy geek-chic" died with the 90s. The 90s were great, but that shit never played to me. What the fuck do I know tho...

  • @dreekd80 I don't know if that look died at al

  • This entire song is a logic joke - it's use of counterfactual structure and inference in the refrain (If X then Y) illustrates the absurdity of the notion that the metaphysical property of friendship can be affirmed merely through associative reason.

  • Your mom is a logic joke.

  • Lucy also happens to be a logic joke.

    u mad nigga?

  • nerd rock,good shit :P

  • Gotta say I was a much bigger fan of the Rentals than Weezer.

  • @br3itain jk, and you should get top comment

  • @br3itain lolololol dorkface

  • The video kept slowing when I ran it on 480p, so apparently I'm a friend of 360p.

  • @br3itain LOL I'm friends of 240, 360 AND 480....P. xD

  • My heart belongs to The Rentals!

  • WHY EMBEDDING DISABLED !? DARN YOU

  • 90's such a romantic era.. something shite about being able to contact and see what everyone else is doing at the click of a button..

  • I used to be friends with H.

I got clean with the help of P.

  • @michaeltgrace Awesome comment! I know what you mean,H was a hell of a friend!

  • @panzercat39 See? This guy gets it. He knows who his true friends are.

  • @michaeltgrace Geez guys, get a room

  • @slipknotfan90909 Slipknot, a band I have seen 5 times and never once wanted to.

  • @michaeltgrace This is unfortunate you know. Obviously I was seeking your approval as to what I listen to.

  • @slipknotfan90909 Much like your insistence of my location of a room for which I can brown-nose the other gentleman. I must reiterate my stance of sunshine-blowing whomever's ass I wish, in whatever capacity I feel fit.

No harm done. Just a lot of foul.

  • @michaeltgrace Not entirely, our intents were different. I was merely joking and you were in it to offend.

  • @slipknotfan90909 Well, I wouldn't say that. Through peepsting your profile I noted you have a very eclectic tastes and are a well spoken young person. My comment was not a dig on you at all, nor was it meant to be. However, thru my selective reading, I totally keyed in on Slipknot and had a brain hemorrhage, and speaking of brain hemorrhages, different strokes, eh?

  • @slipknotfan90909 i bet you have a fat bitch wife

  • @shwartzflugal Nah, that's someone else we know. He was your best friend for the longest time.

  • @slipknotfan90909 yeah, fuck you too.

  • @michaeltgrace eh? why?

  • @slipknotfan90909 Aren't you the guy that took the last Caramel Apple?

  • @michaeltgrace No, I ate the last otter shake.

  • @slipknotfan90909 Oh, you bastard.

  • @1:02 the drummer looks like patrick wilson...

  • @brookereid1160 IT'S Patrick Wilson!

  • friends with agent P

  • Arcade Fire should be cutting these cats a check

  • Couldnt agree more! When Matt Sharp left Weezer they just lost that Weezer sound we loved in Blue and Pinkerton! I saw this video of them reuning ike in 2006 at a college and they played the sweater song and it was so awkward and i was really hoping they would work it out and make another bad ass Weezer album, but its 2011 and im still waiting! :(

  • I WANT THAT MOOG!

  • If you're friends with P., are you also friends with BM?

  • Thumbs up if you need to drink a Heineken now.

  • im friends with p.

  • attractive nerdy chicks are hot and they make great love slaves, with or without the moog.

  • there are german people on the internet who are friends of p. there are videos and pics if your into that kind of stuff!!!!

  • @theXoriginalXnac shit was huge back in 95! LOL Always brings me back this dumb song

  • I'd TOTALLY BANG MATT SHARP(E)..IN A MINUTE

  • This reminds me of how bad the 90's really sucked.

  • Today this song came on the radio and my dad starting messing around with the radio and mumbling "why the fuck is there so much static." I looked at him and said "Dad it's not the radio, it's the sonic power of The Rentals."

  • Nooooo :( Just realized that I'm a hipster. Someone kill me! I hate hipsters :( Yet I'm one of them myself.

  • @minnela this isnt real hiphop. hiphop is all computerized. this had guitars and shtuff but only a keyboard. and hiphop sounds way more horrible than this

  • @123legodude Wtf are you talking about? Hiphop has nothing to do with hipsters.

  • Weezer fails without this guy :(

  • @CenaTv2 Matt didn't write any of the music from the blue album so your wrong, but the rentals were still a great band too bad they never made it big:(

  • id love to take a bath with the blonde with her glasses on....

  • Acryillic- i learned the russin alphabet and write in it sometimes

  • weezer was never the same after this man left...

  • @nickfromCO i've been saying that for years too and no one will listen to me

  • @nickfromCO

    Both bands are awful now.

  • @nickfromCO Barcelona ......Biatch

  • Give props to "glasses guy," psuedo nerds. Without Matt Sharp, there's no hot blonde, no adorable brunette, and no Maya Rudolph as we know her. And no Rentals.

  • both girls are adorable. imagine how cute they would look with out the nerdy glasses.

  • neverliked this guy in weezer. whats his deal. creepy altogether.

  • Those girls are so HOT!!!

  • Very unique music video, I love how still and emotionless they are. Song is awesome!

  • i can play the bass better drunk but it still wont sound and catchy as matt sharp

  • I think this song was originally a "gangsta rap" song. I know it's not, but the chorus sounds like it could be.

  • those bitches are so ugly they could make a straight man a fag.

  • Weezer just wasn't the same after he left the band.

  • @jafooky123 true,they were better

  • @Thysmic

Yes, yes, if by better you mean they started sucking ass.

  • @jafooky123 Blue and Pink may be waaayyy better than any other weezer album but the others do not suck at all!

  • 0:00

  • @Dragon45348 And Patrick Wilson.

  • Hey?! It's the girls from That Dog!!

  • Maybe it's "Friends of Pat (Wilson)"
