@havok939 Either you are not holding the down button hard enough or your device is probably corrupt and will need to be sent to Palm for fixing.

ok i got my palm phone and i put it on the charger and charged it for an hour.

i tried turning it on by pressing the end button

didnt work!

then i tried with the talk button

Remove the battery for a minute to an hour and then reinserting it. A lot of people get confused about turning the phone off. Basically it stays on all the time unless you have the battery out. To turn it on, just insert a battery that has power. When you turn off the phone, it disconnects you from service, but you can still use PDA features that don't require service with the phone off like calender, memos, camera etc. If that doesnt work, I would return it.

Leave the battery out for a day and reinsert it. This will reset the software and it might fix it. If that doesn't work, contact Palm for a service repair which could cost several hundred dollars.

Sorry if this is double comment...I thought I had left for you before but cant find. I keep getting "The Startup Application for this card cannot be read". Have done soft reset, then resorted to hard reset. Phone works again (was frozen before) but now very slow.

I do not remember your comment, must of forgot! You will need to format your microSD card via the computer. This is a common problem that I have with cards over 1 GB.

Do you have the battery inserted? When that LED is red, that means the phone is charging.

Once you call Sprint and they activate your new Centro, your phone number and contract should automatically be switched. HotSync is only for restoring contacts, memos, pictures and vidoes, tasks, calender events, bookmarks, applications and many other things like they were to another Palm device when you Synced it.

I'm having a very similar problem and when I took it to the store they said that it was water damage even though my phone never gets wet. Yes, I keep it in my pocket when I'm carrying it. Yes, I use the headphone jack in the car. Using the headphone jack seems to be what's screwing it up, but I'd appreciate any help that you can provide.

Probably lint is the factor that is causing this problem. My dad has the same problem and he keeps it in his pocket and he does use the headphone jack, on the other hand I personally dont keep it in my pocket and I use the headphone jack. We got his fixed with some WD-40 oil, we took it apart and flushed it out. Now I do not recommend doing this because it will void your warrenty.

Its probably looking for a network or its doing somehting. Try a soft reset, see if that helps. What carrier do you have?

Try preforming a soft reset. Are you sure you are doing it right? If you are correct and it is freezing, the operating system may have a bug and may require Palm to install a fresh copy of Palm OS.

I have two suggestions. The first one is to leave the battery out of the phone for a day or two. If that doesent work then I would send it into Palm to have the Palm OS reinstalled. Anymore questions please reply!

Thanks for the video. Most Centro hard reset instructions do not inform you to keep holding the power button down until the Palm logo shows up a second time. I was only able to hard reset my unit until watching your video. Thanks again!

There is a possiblility that your screen is broken but I don't think it is. Do you know how this happened or did this just randomly? You may need to send your device to Palm for repairs. Either their is something wrong with your screen or the operating system may need to be reinstalled. Anymore questions please reply!

Are you talking about the screen or keyboard?

Try doing a soft reset first, then if that doesent fix the problem you can either contact me or do a hard reset. I would highly recommend that you install the hotsync software that came with your phone before you do a hard reset as a hard reset wiill set it to facotry default! Hope this helps!
