@LoryLandskipper Well i just read a couple of summaries of scientific reports done by Russian and Ukrainian Scientist, as well as U.S. on the subject and the conclusions seem to discredit each other. The fact remains, it is a resource, renewable or not. If we are using oil faster than its created the threat of peak oil is still imminent.

When I initially found this stuff, I found a report from a us government agency that blatantly said biotic material isn't the only source for oil.

In fact, i watch RTnews.Not that their gov't isn't as corrupt as ours, but its nice to get an alternative look at whats going on.I've been reading John Perkins and Michael Ruppert recently.What they talk about and have experienced first hand, coincides with what is going on today around the world.I'm not a "Dooms Dayer" if you will, but as long we support a monetary system I think we are screwed as ordinary citizens.

Yeah I just learned about it a few months ago. On one hand, it's kind of cool because it means oil prices shouldn't sky rocket like people think. On the other hand, it's frustrating because there are SO many people convinced abiotic oil is a myth, even though scientists prove it's not, and this perception is what will drive prices artificially high. On top of that, you've got global warming to contend with, so are massive stores of oil REALLY the best thing to find right now?
