I loved the walz and thought the routine was worth no less than 9. Craig and Len were harsh taking 2 marks off for arms/choreography. However if they had come back in hold after the kiss I think even Len may have forgiven them. Harry is potentially the best celeb ever to appear on Strictly.Craig, Len and Bruno have all mentioned Harry's potential. Also Karen on the red button. I just hope Aliona puts in plenty of content from now on so that he gets the marks he deserves from all the judges.

This was just tweeted about Len's outrageous ranting, because he didit last night on DWTS in the US with Maks and Hope. Len is really off his rocker and should not be judging on either show (SCD or DWTS). Time for him to retire after 50 years.

The negative comments about Aliona's choreography don't surprise me, as Matt Baker fell foul of similar remarks last year (at least Harry doesn't seem to be undermarked like he was). A shame as I thought this waltz was beautiful.

I agree with fiddlesticks, this is the second best waltz I've ever seen on strictly, after Gethin's, and not withstanding Matt DA who IMO got his 40 score because he actually got through the dance after the debacle of the previous week. The improvement in Harry's technique compared to his foxtrot was staggering. I agree about rise and fall, but for me the sway was brilliant.

I wish people would stop harping on about how crap Alesha is-Len was going to give a 10 too! Okay she doesn't have the experience but she has the experience of being on the show and she's a great dancer herself-she was bang on right here! Len should stop picking on Aliona as he always seems to do! Alesha may be the most inexperienced judge but in fact her marking is the most fair-look at Len for example-7s for the first five couples then Craig a 8 to Harry AND ANITA!

@sacultik dissagree I would argue he is one of the most natural dancers we have ever seen on Strictly. Bruno hit the nail on the head when he mentioned his musicality. He moves with the music as if it were as natural as breathing. If that isn't being a natural dancer what is?

He is potentially the best celebrity Strictly has seen to date, just need to wait see if he lives up to the potential...

@sacultik not to me he doesn't! I watched back some past Waltz today (Matt's included) Harry and Gethin I would say are by far the best.. Harry looks like a professional. The rise and fall he created was nothing short of astounding when you think its only his 2nd ballroom dance, there is a noticeable difference in the rise in fall here and in Matt/Flavia's which was very late on in the competition. Harry really could be the best yet.. The way his body glides with the music is stunning.

the Waltz doesn't show up dancers like Latin does (remember Peter Schmeikel?). I guess we'll just have to wait for Harry's next Latin dance

@sacultik it does actually. Some people are better at Latin than they are Ballroom and vice versa. Mark Ramprkash was an exceptional Latin dancer but his ballroom was very often average. I would say Harry is more of a latin boy so I was gobsmacked that he produced this on his 2nd outing in ballroom.

Actually in that series Mark had the best scores for Viennese Waltz, the Waltz in another week and for most of the Latin dances.In contrast Matt Dawson was good at ballroom but at/near the bottom in the Latin dances. Which supports my point that the Waltz doesn't show up dancers like Latin does

You can't compare Lisa and Jill's scores because they weren't in the same series, while Mark and Matt Dawson were. If Mark wasn't a brilliant ballroom dancer he wouldn't have got such high scores for Waltzs or Tangos which btw is ballroom and not Latin.It's easier to hide in a Waltz if you''re not a natural dancer which is my point. Remember Peter Schmeichel the waltzing oak tree?

@fiddlesticks53 it's because he's a drummer, to be a good drummer you have to be able to move/keep time with the rhythm of a song, same for dancing - in that way, it can be argued that he has had much practice beforehand. of course, the technicalities of dancing will all be new to him, the actual footwork, etc, and i think that that is where the praise is really deserved, cause in that way, the actual footwork and stuff, he's really improved, and you can see it.

Alesha is a crap judge - she goes with popular opinion and has no professional insight to back up her comments, so giving Harry a 10 isn't that reliable. Having said that, I thought it was lovely (and probably worthy of a 10 by the actual judges) and the dancing itself should be critiqued, not the choreography.

I don't get whats wrong with the whisper. the whole choreography was beautiful including the whisper and little kiss and i loved the story. I don't get why Len thought it wasn't good and had to penalise them. I love Harry and I love Aliona! they got my vote <3

Harry is the best dancer on the show this year, he is beautiful to watch and thats who i vote for not Aliona, last year with Matt some of her choices let them down and i don't want that to happen to Harry this year :-) i hope the final will be Harry, Chelsee and either Robbie or Russell....if Holly pulled her finger out and do what she is capable of she could be a contender but not if she continues the way she is going although the VW was marginally better :-)

I guess everyone has different taste in choreography - Aliona's doesn't work for me either. I feel she often doesn't push her partners in terms of their technique as much as the other dancers do.

@helenschlegel You are joking right? Technically speaking the Waltz part of that dance was the best of the night, and the best waltz of SCD, any series. The other dancers just walk around the dance floor with the music. No one gives Aliona any credit for teaching Harry so well, or consider that if Harry had to do that for 1.5 minutes the standard wouldn't have been as high.

Literally Len blamed Aliona for the whisper, not Harry. And I completely dont understand why each time everybody give such negative comments to Aliona's choreography? This dance is MAGNIFICENT couldn't expect any better than this. And Aliona is such a great choreographer, perhaps her choreographer is way beautiful than some of the other professionals.

Great routine and wonderfully danced. The waltz needs to glide across floor as if they were dancing on clouds and that they definitely did. He deserves high marks for his frame and footwork and the only negative I saw were his arm movements especially in the shadow position, as Bruno had pointed out. He just has to complete the movement across his arms so that they look more elegant considering this is a waltz. Overall, a great job!

It was really beautiful, not sure if the stair was necessary. But there was plenty of content and the technique was great. Len's was overreacting but if Harry and Aliona want to get good scores they need to listen to him as well.
