this is the first video on youtube, that actually does show a nice live bass dubstep wobble! awesome job for this and even more props for the diy part! will you sell these eventually?
I'll try to come up with something similar with my oto biscuit...
@MrYellowTangerine Very nice to hear that this is still the only video :P I really hope I get to sell these, but I don't want to sell junk to anyone. It might sound good, but it's hard to use. I'm teaming up with a good friend of mine who's going to help me with fine tuning the programming of the LFO. Fingers crossed we get it working.
you cant just do a dubstep wobble with the moog MF-101?? and tweak the "amount" knob to change the speed of wobble? either way are you done the pedal?
great work man i just watched all your videos. i have been trying to make dubstep on guitar using the lfo on the moog ring mod but its not really working out. Would you be willing to build me a pedal? do you have a website or any type of contact info? i'd really like to purchase one of these pedals your working on
I'm sure you've thought of this or others have suggested it, but wouldn't the best way to go would be midi beat clock? Then you could slave to the drum tracks or a shared click with a live drummer. I'm impressed you built your own lfo generator. That's great! It sounds good too. I love the moogerfoogers — they're fun to inter-modulate, they go to extremes, and sound so great.
@bentropy That's the next bit I'm working on, it requires quite a bit of programming. There's no easy way to just link a midi to my lfo... It will be in there in the end! I agree on the moogerfoogers, but so expensive :)
@Exterslab do you need the Digitech Bass Synth Wah to create that lower octave, or can you use a regular Digitech Syn Wah pedal? and regarding teh LFO pedal... are you going to start selling them... because I'm considering buying one if you do. Thanks bro!
@UnsparingErnieGaming I'm unsure about the synth wah, I've never used the normal one. I hope to start selling them if I'm able to work out the few problems it still has. Let's hope I do!
before i ask these questions, i have to mention i dont really know what im talking, jst hoping you can help. so, what actually is the lfo? i know what an lfo is in terms of what it does on a computer vst synth or whatever, but in terms of guitar is it basically like a tremolo or vibe type thing? also what does the moogerfooger actually do? it looks like it would do a similar thing. is your pedal jst to split it easily into 8th's, 16'ths etc?
@ThirdElexis It's pretty simple. The LFO controls something. So if it controls a volume knob it's a tremolo! In this case it controls a mongerfooger low-pass filter. Finally, yes the pedal I'm working on specifically controls the LFO to vibe in 8th's, 16th's and triplets.
The reason I ask is because right now we have everything you have except that pedal your building. Finding a LFO pedal is the hardest part. We thought we could do something with a Moog LFO/Ring modulator but those are always so pricy (for good reason, but I feel I would only use half the pedal) Anyway, Keep it up and good luck. And then sell me one.
@Takerbell21 Thanks for the nice comment! Indeed most of the stuff out there is pricey and I hope to beat those prices. I'm considering having a patch out for people who want to use the LFO with their own preferred filter.
dude this is great, what you need tho is a slow setting; when you're playing, I'm totallying DYING to hear a slow, growled waaaaahhhh, one that takes like, 4 beats to make a complete sweep, sorta like in the drop of Mord Fustang's "A New World", the slowwww enveloped growl.
Is it possible to rig it so that at certain ranges in the sweep of the expression pedal it locks into certain rhythms? So say all the way down is sixtuplets and it stays at that rhythm until exactly 3/4 at which it changes to triplets and stays at that rhythm until exactly 1/2 at which it changes to eigths etc?
@THTCRAZYAZN I've tried that and it doesn't work that well. It's really hard to get your foot exactly into the right positions when playing to a beat. Buttons work better!
@fatgoogle Hi there! I'm thinking of producing an all in one wobble pedal so I'm a little hesitant to release my designs. The LFO in this video though is based on the ones you can find over at musicfromouterspace. Check them out!
awesome job, I'm surprised a pedal company hasn't released an LFO based effect for dubstep sounds yet, check out my dubstep guitar uploads if you get a chance
I wanna buy one! how much?
