  • i love this movie! would watch it a million times if permitted! thanks!

  • HI I'm a journalist and I write for Cream magazine.

  • @nholt Are you, now?

  • Grab the audio from this vid at speedyconversion doht cohm.

  • Too bad Jason Lee couldn't focus on making a band instead of Scientology.

  • This scene always struck me as kind of off, and I think I've figured it out. No professional band would start off a concert with a song this slow. IMO of course...

  • @TMadCap: I think you're dead wrong. I've been to many shows where the mood was quite mellow to begin...and no, they weren't Jack Johnson concerts...Unless you're seeing the Sex Pistols or Static X, this is not even remotely an issue.

  • @dogwater273

which is why I said "in my opinion". I just would never start a show with something likely to put the crowd to sleep...

  • @TMadCap hey, if it was my band, I was definitely consider this as either an opener or a closer... of course, it's all in the eye of the beholder, isn't it

  • i play this song with my band....it's so good!

  • tremenda peli!!!

  • Great performance by Kate Hudson but her character was so frustrating and confusing!

  • They do a good job of making you feel like your there

  • la parte di batteria è molto simile a "When the levee breaks" dei Led Zeppelin

  • Get on myyy back for a piggyback riiide!

  • i love this song!!!!!!!!!

  • Jason Lee from My Name Is Earl looks so good here!! lol. And Billy Crudup looks hot rockin on the guitar. I love this scene, all about the music! This song is soooo good......has a Led Zep vibe to it lol.

  • Man that is one mean guitar!!

  • man I LOVE this movie.

  • How much does Jason Lee look like Paul Rodgers when he was in Free?

  • jason lee's super sexy in this movie.

  • Jason Lee in this scene is the sexiest thing I have ever seen.

    I can't stop watching. *__*

  • Jason Lee

Very Sexy in this film, randomly always think about this scene when watching 'My Name is Earl' haha

  • yeah his voice reminds me a lot of robert Plant's

  • "His" voice is actually "her" voice. It's Nancy Wilson from Heart.

  • your joking right? haha

  • oh my lord you mean to say that the voice in fever dog is actually Nancy Wilson's voice? 0_0

  • @jiayunlim it's not her singing, she just wrote it. Marti Frederiksen is singing

  • he said himself, it was a mix of the allman bros & zeppelin.

  • feverdog is an awsome song

  • @osianna16 the guitar is incendiary...

  • Piggyback song is awesome !lol

  • I love that piggyback song xD

  • Anyone know the name to the song at the beginning? "Get on my back for a piggyback ride" ? i spammed google and cant find anything :(

  • Jason Lee made it up.

  • Y'all can Google Cameron Crowe's Rolling Stone articles he wrote before he turned 20! They are amazing interviews of Led Zep, Rolling Stones, etc. Wow!

  • No. That is Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes.

  • nooo this is semi autobiographical of when cameron crowe went on tour with the rolling stones

  • i believe it was the allman brothers

  • There was a lot of bands, not just the one. The Allman brothers, the Eagles, Led Zeppelin and one or two others.

  • Im pretty sure that its also loosly based on The Eagles.

  • Jason Lee is a Pimp

  • this band is fictional, but the real stillwater is fucking amazing... mind bender is a bad ass song

  • totally agree

  • I heard that he based this on a few bands because i heard he also toured with zeppelin

  • Zeppelin and the Allman Brothers...

  • i love these scene too!!! ^^

  • what is the "piggy back ride" song??

  • where can i hear the full 'piggie back ride' song at the start?

  • totally love this song!!! it's off the hook! (:

  • its off the hook, the chain, and the wagon, raisa

  • i love this song

  • I bought this movie last Tuesday! It rocks! And William isn't a bad guitar player himself. He played Ledd Zeppelin Stairway To Heaven Amazingly! ALMOST FAMOUS <3

  • the songs were written by Peter Frampton, or at least thats what i have read

  • Stillwater Was an Actual Band. But Cameron Crowe Based This Stillwater On the Allman Brothers Band, Which was the band he toured with as a writer for You Guessed it Rolling Stone

  • SORRY TO BBURST UR BUBBLE UT STILLWATER IS A FICTIONAL BAND. I was looking up tuf aout almost famous up on wikipedia & its just a made up group with composed songs from various atist for the movie

  • there is real band named stillwater. that played southern rock in the late 60s. however the one in almost famous is fictional.

  • i was just sayin that the band they were talking about wasnt real

  • this stillwater is fictonal, but really existed another stillwater

  • it kills me to see Kate Hudson in movies liek Bride Wars after watching this movie. she's amazing in it :)

  • dis shit hard as fuck!!!

  • Aww, I love this movie & Stillwater...and yes, they were a real Band :). I am wondering though, what is the name of the song they sing in the movie that begins w/ the words, "Doctor, doctor..." something :P? It's beautiful *sigh*. P.S.: the guys in the movie are absolute babes :-> ;)

  • It says online, that there was a band called Stillwater, but this band is not it... They're just a bit inspired by the real band. The band in the moive is completely fictional, the songs were written by the director of the movie, and other people...

  • If they were a real band, they would became famous!

  • almost.

  • i wish this was a real band cause everything about this song is awesome

  • you funny crazy loco man ha ha

  • In the beggining where they say "Get On My Back For A Piggy Back Ride"... is that a real song?

  • Thats what I've been wondering. I cant seem to find it though.

  • Comment removed

  • Any look in finding it? I've got it stuck in my head now and i don't even know wtf it is lol

  • oh man, this band may be fictional but they are fucking sick!

  • Its a real band =/

  • i mean the band in the movie not the acctuall 'stillwater'

  • hey, fuck off! fuck you. fucking shit ass faggot.

  • Dude...this song which was song by the real Stillwater band is awesome...just look up Fever Dog Stillwater

  • dude...this song was written specifically for this film. the real stillwater was a completely different band.

  • It is a real band you dumb twats LOL.Study Rock HISTORY!! lol . People aren't that smart to just invent a band. You can buy their shit on ebay! got it. They were formed in 1973 and fell apart in 1982.They released 2 albums "Stillwater" and "I Reserve The Right" Their first song ''Mindbender'' was in top 100 in 1978. Albums they recorded on Capricorn Records in Warner Robins, Georgia. The actual members were - Michael Causey, Rob Roy Walker, Bobby Golden, Al Scarborough, Bob Spearman, Jimmy Hall.

  • Hey no need to get nasty! We know that there was a "Stillwater" band, it's been stated on here already, but this "Stillwater" wasn't based on them, but was a composite of the bands Cameron Crowe interviewed during his heyday with Rolling Stone. No need to get your knickers in a bind... :D

  • Jason Lee is 'a stone fox' in this vid

  • SO GREAT!

    LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH!

  • omg i used to love this movie, i went from hippy to soldier haha

  • i saw this movie in the theater and watching Jason Lee sing this song made me feel like i was watching a real band. his performance = aces!

  • love this song too bad they arent a real band lol

  • this was a real band... or were u joking?

  • nope. they weren't a real band. there's a stillwater, but they're different.

  • love this song

  • is that really him singing? damn hes HotT in this movie

  • Love the shot of the mixing board! 12 channel? Is it a Peavey? 3 guitars, 2-3 vocals, and some channels left for drums! Looks like 1973 to me! And the light and sound guys were there for every band rehearsal.

  • They had 16 track boards in 73.

  • i have the sound track in your faces!

  • How effing sexy is Jason Lee?

    <3

  • great movie ..really like it8->

  • Great tune I used to see them play this back in The Jeff Bebe band days!!

  • best movie ever

  • This movie is so good

  • I like how Kate takes the pen from Patrick. Naughty boy. Get into it now. Write about it later, at home. Very Zen stuff.

  • Someone said the actors played their own instruments - they were coached by Peter Frampton (who wrote some of the songs), but Mike McReady of Pearl Jam played lead guitar and Nancy Wilson (Cameron Crowe's wife) played rhythm and co-wrote some of the songs with Crowe. And someone named Marti Frederickson did lead vocals(I don't know who he is).

  • jason lee the one!!!

  • All of these actors played the actual instruments. I find it cool that the guitarist only played guitar for 2 months and was taught by Frampton.

  • No way was that him playing after 2 months...he'd be a prodigy. It's actually physically impossible to play like that after 2 months. But yeah, that is cool that he was taught by Frampton.

  • not if you got it

  • I read that he only learned how to look like he was playing. Frampton taught him some fingering methods and such. They didn't actually play.

  • fever dog scrachin on my back door ........... yeahhhhhhh

  • I love this song wow..yep very very awesome song..should download it..ha ha

  • Brilliant movie, excellent song.

  • FEVER DOG!! Scrachin at my back door!

  • Stillwater is fuckin' awesome!

    I love this movie.

  • that movie is amazing

    excelent movie

    and song

  • Now I'm not into grungy guys, but I thought Jason Lee was smokin' in this movie!

    And the song's great too.

  • Kevinnaaa... Sounds like Frampton because Frampton was the 'coach' that was hired to teach the actors how to put on a concert. Cameron spoke of perhaps putting an album together of Stillwater. People have asked for it. P.S. Who would have thought that Earl of 'My Name is Earl' fame could rock out?!?! That's the lead singer, folks!

  • Love Almost Famous! Stillwater are amazing, this song makes me wish they were a real band. Also, Jeff and Russell are v hot!

  • there was a band in the 70's called Stillwater. They Had a minor hit with the song Mindbender

  • fever dog scratchin at my back door

  • I loved this movie... Amazing...

What was that song that they sing later in the movie... I can't remember all of it, except the first line is "Doctor, Doctor"...

    Oh well...

    ^_^ Thanks a ton for posting! =D

  • "Love comes and goes" is the title for the song.

    :D

  • Love Comes and Goes

  • this song was written by mike mccready.... from Pearl jam

  • this song rocks gotta here the whole song see the movie or your just not lovin it

  • if they had become a real band .. hellz yah i would have been number one fan lol

  • at 145 i thought he wasgonna play the hey joe solo

  • GREAT MOVIE :D

  • Sounds like a Cross between Stranglehold and something by Skynrd.

  • thats bomb

  • It does remind me a bit of Zep, but for some reason I think it sounds like a really slow version of Strangle hold which is totally fucking cool either way. Somebody needs to make a Still water shirt.

  • You could, if you could get a still shot (hehheh...!) from the movie and get one of those iron on transfer kits for your printer. Copyright might be a prob though unless you just made it for yourself. But it's definitely do-able.

  • Bueno, la cancion de marras de parece mucho a "Fire" de Jimi Hendrix i a "Bullet the blue sky" de U2...

  • Maybe I'm nuts but "Fever Dog" sounds like a song Sound Garden could have done . . .

  • I love the full version of Fever Dog. It really does sound like it could have come from the early 1970s.

  • Being backstage is an experience that is undescrible. This feeling comes over you when the lights are down and you hear the stomping that is coming from the audience. Next, one of the crew leads the band up on stage with a flashlight and then the lights come on. You take a seat on one of the amp cases and crack open a beer and you enjoy the show.

    God Bless Rock & Roll,

    LadyDemocrat

  • Am I the only person in the world who think Jason is so fucking hot. Other than his earl look

  • NO you're not alone!

  • thank god cause I realized how much I was attracted to him when I saw Heartbreakers. Then I saw him in Almost Famous and I fell in love.

  • Jason reminds me so much of Paul Rodgers the lead singer of Free in this movie

  • hah i know paul rogers lol

i'd love to have a beard like that

but unfortunatly chicks don't like long hair or beards..

  • The singer looks like Paul Rodger from Free and so the baterist looks like the baterist of Free. And the song sound like when the levee breaks from Led Zepp

  • soy gay

  • good band music movie evertything!

  • Damn Billy Crudup! (the lead singer) looked good!!! Kate Hudson and him rocked this movie!

  • the lead singer is Jason Lee not Billy Crudup, he is the guitarist

  • oops! I meant to say Billy Crudup.

  • the song was written by Cameron Crowe..but the guitar work is Sir Mike McCready of Pearl Jam

  • fevre dog or should i say when the levee breaks????

  • haha the beat IS really similar but other than that, they are nothing alike.

  • How dumb are you madman? No one said that the drum beats at every concert are the same.

You don't know anything about music do you STALKER?

    LadyDemocrat

  • i don't even know what you are talking about. How does commenting on a video make me a stalker. I don't even know who you are, so obviously i can't be a stalker. That guy said that fever dog sounds like when the levee breaks. I said the drum beat was similar, but other than that they are totally different songs.

  • That's what i meant,of course when the levee breaks is better, the song and the drum beat,

  • no offense, nancy wilson is the greatest FEMALE guitarist, but lets not go crazy here. No one will ever be a Jimmy Page, so you can not compare anything to any song he's written. like "When the Levee Breaks". Be real here, Jimmy has done things to amaze people ans re-invented the way the electric guitar is played. only other to astonish people was Jimi Hendrix! You had to be there.

  • ummm... Duane Allman maybe? definately a legendary guitarist

  • Could be because Nancy and Ann Wilson of "Heart" are the biggest "Led Zeppelin" Fans. Listen to them as "The Lovemongers" only ones to cover a Zeppelin worth while, "Battle of Everymore"

  • i think peter frampton made this song for the movie

  • Cameron Crowe and his wife (the chick from the band Heart) wrote it, but i think Frampton taught billy crudup how to play guitar.

  • The "chick" had a name it's Nancy Wilson. Daftman might work better for you or stalkerman.

  • Nancy Wilson of "Heart" Cameron's wife wrote the score and she and Peter taught the Band to play, including Billy. They were so good when finished shooting, Cameron thought they'rd have a career as Rock Musicians!

  • *cough* peter frampton *cough*

  • guess you were too young to ever attend a Humble Pie concert...among others....

  • Sorry, that was meant to be in response to who taught the guitarist, and I missed that you'd mentioned Peter.

But I suppose you're too old to've ever attended a Down concert, among others....

  • You don't mean "DOWN" the acclaimed New Orleans band featuring "CORROSION OF CONFORMITY"guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower, bassist Rex Brown, guitarist Kirk Windstein, and vocalist Philip Anselmo where they are currently on the road in Australia as the support act for HEAVEN AND HELL. Nope never heard of them....lol..

  • THIS SONG IS SO CATCHY MAN! I love it man!!! thanks for puting this up man!

  • rocking stillwater!

  • Si.. la movie esta genial

  • hey lov ya for that comment

  • a big fucking movie

  • <3 this song and movie

  • Stillwater kick ass!!!

  • 1 of my favorite movies
