I used to load these, and B57 nuclear weapons on F-111's. When they were still around in the '90's. The "silver bullets" were a lot of fun to load. Especially with an armed sentry watching your every move.

Yes, that is true, but it's a reality of the world we live in that there is war and there are nations that would use nuclear weapons if we didn't have them to strike back.

The Cold War was all about having enough weapons to assure that the other side would never attack and face the retaliation. Yes, it seem like insanity. But it worked. No nukes were fired in anger since 1945.
