  • Serious?????. You have no clue as to the use of NF3. It is a greenhouse gas yet by means of commercial use, when the molecule is cracked, it is no more harmful then O2. Come on!!! Is your last name gore??????

  • Excellent scientific facts. Thanks for that. Very interesting.

  • thanks for watching, gobz! norm has been researching the science and politics of greenhouse gases for a book he's writing and there's so much more to tell!

now with the hard sell of wind and solar technology we have to be mindful of how the same old polluters, GE and Dupont for example, are finding ways to dupe us into thinking we've gone green while they develop and market new applications for all this toxic crap they're still producing!

  • You are welcome. I do believe that British and American governments with-hold certain technologies regarding energy. They have the tech to make energy free but would rather we suffered by paying for their "Black Gold" as Jed Clampett said!

  • Scientists have come up with a new idea. They want to 'terraform' Mars and make it habitable. Meanwhile we are all busy destroying the Earth. How crazy is that?

  • hi RonanG thanks for commenting... yep... that is one sick and crazy notion. i for one will stick with this planet no matter how badlyravaged it gets... i still love this earth and will til they bury my bones

  • I have caretaken flora and fauna, and human beings are as fickle as the sea. good luck.

  • I hope you go to Copenhagen. If so, I will will find you there.

  • Thanks! Great to hear from you!

  • One more thing: I encourage you to vote for me at the HuffPost site & rate me high, as I really do have important climate information they are otherwise sure to overlook. And one more more thing: i encourage you to encourage others of like mind to vote & rate me, & Send a Hempster to Hopenhagen.

  • What are Nf3 and Hf6? I do know methane is worse than CO2...

  • Greenhouse Gases' Global Warming Potentials(GWPs) show how the Greenhouse Effect of each individual Gas compares with that of CO2, for example Methane's GWP is 62 because it Warms the Globe 62 times as much as CO2.NitrousOxide's GWP is 310.The GWP of NF3("Solar Freon") is 17,200.Thousands of Freons have high GWPs & destroy the Ozone Layer.DuPont makes NF3 & the Freons.NF3 is used to etch Solar Panels.Last summer a Finnish co. found a way to make the panels without NF3 but nobody uses it yet.

  • NF3 is actually MORE than 18,000 worse than CO2:Groups that determine GWPs count it in a gas's FAVOR if that gas destroys Ozone Layer like NF3 which destroys so much Ozone that it would cause Global Cooling if it didn't have such horrendous Greenhouse Effect. No countries restrict NF3 but only China allowed its manufacture until recently: Now NF3 making has spread to Korea, Japan, India, North Carolina: Any place where the government is vulnerable to bribes & politicians sell out their citizens.

  • SF6's GWP is 34,900, the worst ever tested. It is used to insulate ultra-high-voltage electrical switchgear & transformers, though a vacuum works better. The company Vestas is the world's biggest seller of both SF6 & Wind Farms. So the gases from Wind & Solar Energy are thousands of times worse than CO2, and can't be removed for thousands of years, unlike CO2 which can be removed down to 280 ppm.

SF6 is called "Air Jordan" because it was the gas filling in Air Jordan athletic shoes.

  • I was incorrect on one thing I wrote to you on this subject: NF3 apparently does not destroy the ozone layer like other Freons do.

  • green houses are the best way to go. it is so much more pure air.

  • i want a greenhouse!

  • me to greenhouses the air is so much more clearer and everything is pure air.

  • Thanks for your important contribution and I hope you win.

  • there sure are a lot of worthy candidates. we've watched lots of the entries and they're an impressive bunch. if it were up to me i'd send everyone, all the people who made videos for the contest, in fact we rated every one we watched top marks to give them each a fighting chance.... the sad thing is that since then, several people we gave tens gave us and everyone else but themselves very low scores... sad how competitive rivalry can often spoil the fun. 'twould be cool if norm wins though!

  • 10 stars from me, on the contest.

    XLnt vid, Norm.

  • doesn't look like the reply we made earlier stuck.. norm was really honored that you dug it

  • brilliant

  • having norm in the greenhouse is priceless!!!

  • he looks like a figure in a rousseau painting, eh

  • By the way what do you guys think about all of the "climategate" stuff going around?

  • climate change deniers.... the politically fueled, irrational, unhealthy skepticism of ignoramuses could be the death of us ! denial in the face of overwhelming evidence is so perverse.

  • Awesome entry, if happen to see Obama while you're in Copenhagen please tell him about hemp and how taxing the crap out of us won't help. Good Luck hope you win!

  • thanks. sure thing, we hope obama makes it there... if he does, we'll pass along your message!

  • OK i voted for you, thanks for providing the link!

  • Good points Norm, way to represent. Wow, and I didn't even know that about the wind farm insulation.Freon bad, hemp good.I recommend you put that site on the sidebar so people can just click on it. Good luck !

  • we had to wait for our video to be approved and posted to the site so we could put the url on the sidebar... it's there now! too, we gave all the contestants a big ten vote of confidence because we are in support of anyone who joins in this effort... not just hippies, but grandmas. kids, and old curmugeons too, ya gotta love people for wanting to save the planet :o)

  • awesome!

  • thanks freshy

  • Hippies are a spent force.

  • You have my vote also. Good luck. I think most of the hemp is still being grown in Canada.
