I too am ready to be baptized by the Holy Ghost and water baptism in Jesus name. I need to have a realtionship with Jesus Christ. I know that I am a sinner and that I am lost. I thought I could do it all on my own.....two marriages and two divorces have proven me wrong. I am ready to repent. My problem is I travel Thursday through Tuesdays often and can't find a home church or meet at "traditional" times. Please pray for me that God will lead me where I can be baptized.

Yes. I mean if you get that gift from God and is proof that is spirit is in you; he is the son of God so it would make sense. Mark 16:17 clearly says that one of the signs that accompany a believer is that they will speak in new tongues.

Amen!!!....It's not one of the signs that accompany a believer...its the only sign to let us know we have it. The gift of the Holy Ghost is giving to a believer and one speaks in tongues to let us know we have it..but the gifts of the Spirit are different. If one does not have the Spirit...they cannot have any gifts.

The difference between Jesus and the Holy Spirit is that Jesus was human and He can be touched by His disciples, while the Holy Spirit is the spirit of Jesus in which we can only know that His presence is within us through being sensitive with our feelings and wanting His presence to fill our hearts....

When i was babtized in the holy spirit, i immediantly began spaeking in tongues. I was kind of shocked after. . . i knew God could and can do what he does. I have been looking into "speaking in tongues" and apparently it requires great degrees of concentration and focus. How can a person concentrate with so many people around him who are screaming, jumping and clapping?

We also pray and it is encouraged to pray alone at nights so that you can truly seek God. That is why I am more curious. Can anyone explain?

I've heard that the Bible says thas speaking in tongues is only a personal expierience wich strengthens you and only you, and that there is absolutly no use or power when someone speaks in tongues around others because they'll get nothing out of it. That's why one should not speak in tongues by hearers but the spirit can give a profetic power that does help and strengthens others so that's what good and from God. (sorry for my writing i'm Dutch,it's hard for me sometimes)

I'm Lutheran so we don't experience this stuff, but I play for an Assemblies of God high school youth group, and I play drums in a band with some guys from the same church, and the whole speaking in tongues is pretty interesting, I'm more open to it now that I've talked to people about it. But I also know that there are many people who fake it for a show.
