  • You should use a Athearn GP15-1 For switching!'

I have one and theyre very nice! Athearn has MANY different Roads of GP15-1's!

They have great slow performance, Good sounds, Not too expensive, Highly detailed, great for switching and Other Purposes.

  • @metroliner89 Does it come with DCC and sound? The layout now is full DCC. What road names do they have?

  • @AmtrakSilverStar It is available with DCC, and DCC/SOUND! They have CSX, NS, BN, GN (Hard to find) Union Pacific/UPY, Chessie S., Frisco, Mo-Pac, Conrail, and CNW! :D So many!

  • what were those coatser cars sittin in a freight yard? i love the series by the way

  • @Barricade360 Thanks. The Coaster cars on on route to San DIego for delivery.

  • hey this may be a strange but what kind of lighting do you use in your train room? It really makes your models look real!

  • Switching?

  • I was intrigued with the question about Athearn - here in Australia, for many years, we put up with poor quality mechanisms in Lima/Horny models of Australian diesel prototypes. For many of us, substituition with an Athearn SD9 mechanism was the only alternative (1970-1980's) as they were far superior. Like the current crop of products in US prototype, the new models in Australia from Auscision, TrainOrama and Austrains are first rate, details and mech.

  • Thats not switching! you just drove a single locomotive down the track. Come on, man.

  • @ConrailDave1999 I know. this is part of a series. You have to watch the enxt video in the series.

  • @ConrailDave1999 You ever hear the saying, "If you don't have something nice to say, then don't say anything at all"!

  • @dep92 Inwasn't trying to be mean. you know what, forget it.

  • @dep92 I have. Let the guy who owns the video say that to me.

  • You just gave me good Ideas for my layouts yard.Thank you! :)

  • @aerobee58 You're welcome.

  • Nice Loco and Yard. The dwarf lights help bring it more to realism.Do you find the Athearn Locomotives more reliable now than 10 years earlier.I would like tto get one soon.

  • @aerobee58 Thanks. I didnt start model railroading till 2002, so I dont know how much it has changed, but Athearn is pretty good.

  • what no horn blast and bell ringing as you over take the comuter trains?

  • @xtremepyrotech I dont have sound on this engine.

  • Was that a metro north loco... If it was where did you get it.

  • No, it is a CSX SD60 made by Athearn. I got it from a train show.

  • Nice cars/units and layout!

  • Thanks.
