Don't listen to these guys on here hating on you. I was nice for you to make a free video for others to see. You proved in the beginning you know how to mix tracks. For all the people complaining about not mixing it manually, go ahead and throw out all your gadgets of convenience. microwave, egg beater, blender, cheese grater, etc. What...you mean you would rather use a blender then chop for an hour?
if it makes his life easier and people like it, who cares.
lol wow really... so this is why D.J are turning lazy..lol what happen to beat.jumpin scratching playin 10 song under 5min... this jus take the fun out of being a d.j or tryin to be come a d.j... good luck wit them weddings... SMH.....
Well, actually.. That WASN'T a dj set. Mixmaster is the most rudimentary program of all times.
And , u have to match the beats and tempo doing the "one song to another", so.. yeah. Buy a decent pair of Pioneer technics. Go to dj school. Thats pretty much it.
oh , and nice speakers, nothin' bad 2 say about that .
The sad part is this guy doesn't understand just how powerful this studio software (not mobile) would be for someone who understood beat matching, key matching, and well djing. Take DH's advice and maybe buy some cds/mp3s.
well lets not all bash the dude not all markets are good for club style mixing you could waste a lot of money buying all the top-o-the line tabletops but then never use them but twice a year well i own a roland sp808 groove sampler i use to dj with that also not much need for it but i use it when i think it would be a addition to my show ...and 1 set of pioneer cdj 1000mk2s w pioneer mixer about $4200.00 w cases and ect that sometimes i wonder if i should have embrace the technology
OMFG u fcking nerds say that laptop djs are not djs... ok you´re better than laidback luke or steve angello i might guess :S .).
stop being such an asshole and give some credit to those who´re starting to evolve... if they stick up with the usual stuff u´ll still be hearing some boring techno pieces of... ._.
Mixmeister isn´t probably the software you should be given credit for but though as they said, in the end people just want to hear good music and nice blending between them...
I can see people using mixmeister to make blends and remixes but for someone who can't really DJ (such as yourself) you need to get some CDJs or tables and actually learn the craft. It's people like this that are killing REAL DJS because you probably charge 50 a show. Learn how to really DJ and then go get some software. Maybe you should start with DJ Hero...
along with all the other real DJs out there... please, don't call yourself a DJ. Industry standard, at minimum, is CDJ-800s for cdj's and whatever style mixer (STAND ALONE MIXER) you're comfortable... rack mounts aren't even for amatuers anymore..
Also, DJ'ing is beatmatching, reading the crowd, and showmanship. laptop dj's are not djs
your wrong. There are 2 types of DJs.. Those who remix, and those who entertain. I would class mobile dj work as entertainment, so like just playing music and have a light show etc.. The other type would be those who either use CDJs or Decks OR scratch live. Im starting out being a mobile dj and i use Virtualdj.. Im learning to mix using the software because i cant afford a CDJ/Mixer Setup. But yea, i CAN mix, what do you class me?
all DJs are entertainers. I do both mobile dj work, such as weddings, bar mitzvah's and pool decks, but I also work as a club DJ. starting up and learning using software is great because it will allow you to learn the theory and techniques behind it, as well as helping you get to know where your mix ins and mix outs are on your tracks.
DJ'ing is about the showmanship. You don't want to go into an event with a laptop and just stand there because then the customer feels ripped off
Your right about the customer feeling ripped off, but everyones doing it now, since its the easiest option. Most people would rather carry round a light laptop rather than two decks in flight cases along with a mixer (mixer can be used with laptop to but optional). Also, look at the price of CDJs... Unbelievable! I might look into buying decks once i start making money, but no point getting a loan if you get no business.
hey have you had any problem adding music to mix meister cuz i have saying that i don't have the right format on a cd i guess if you buy the cd original you cant add it
Mixmeister is one of the best programs for DJing, i have it and u can mix it live, or pre mixed. i do both, i been using it over 2 years and i still learning tricks, is not a just a fade in beat match play list, more u use it more u going to like it. i have Virtual DJ also but i dont use it, ill try to upload a especial mix with some of the tricks i found.
In the end the crowd doesn't really care what you use to mix as long as the tunes are good and you have a good set - at least that's what I've found...
On some major events DJ's like Tiesto do not mix there set live. It is also a pre-mix. This because of all the light and show effects they have to synchronize with the music. I'm sorry if I woke you up from your illusion, but this is the truth.
I do agree on your point that this (MixMeister) is not DJ'ing! True!
Rednex Cottoneyed Joe? Village People? Are you stuck in a time warp??
Mixmeister is a good app for premixing, but it's no good for live sets as to do a good mix there's a lot of work involved. Also most of the time I mix manually as it doesn't beatmix correctly. Also it's quite buggy as you'll find out. I've been using Fusion for about 2 years... btw you need a fast PC and preferably two ASIO soundcards. I would also recommend 2GB of RAM.
WHy you lazy? mix like normal DJs...I mean come on using Serato, Virtual,Torq etc... is alright but But a program that does basically does everything for you?
Requires no talent and even if u did use that, it sound like shit when it fades. i dont mean to dump in ur cheerio's but that program sux. although that dose require the hidden talent of picking a playlist but u cant even do that. 0/10
Horrible!!! I'll tell you what, you give me $100.00 and I'll smack you! That will be more worth it than spending $200.00 on this crap. bad mixing too.
You can argue this all you want, wanna be dj's but any true dj knows that getting sofware to do all your mixing for you, is totally wack! Buy some REAL TURNTABLES-TECHS,VESTAX,STANTON, BUY SOME VINYL, BUY A MIXER, (THAT ACTUALLY HAS A CROSSFADER) AND LEARN HOW TO DJ!
So let me get this straight: you are endorsing a program that takes all the fun out of djing so you can sit back and do absoulutely nothing, 1. tells me you suck at djing, and shouldn't be djing in the first place. 2. you wasted 200 bux on a program to be a wanna be dj.
niice man i like the sounds of this and the looks...this is a professional program as well....good going ...that greta program and i am workin on gettin it hahah yea for DJing for my internet radio station from my mixing board i also use a professional program like that and i create mixes with something like that ...really nice!!
sure thing man. I need to know a bit more information first off did you use mixmister? Or some other program? Let me know all the details and I for sure can help you out... Thanks dude... :)
Hey dude iv just made a remix with just two songs by adding a back beat to another track but i dont no how to save it as one track can you help me out?
the beat match is horrible on this program and it also defeats the point of eing a dj coz u could giv it to a baby and they could do the same. it u want a gd program buy M-Audio's x-ponent and torq software digital mixing desk with loads of effects with scratch panels on the external hardware. complicated to use but is more like the pioneer mk3's which is what is used in all the clubs now days and although torq is expensive (£355 in uk) its an amazing program and well worth it

Anyone who uses Mixmeister at a gig shouldn't be playing out live!
It's fine for creating mixes when you're feeling a bit lazy or want to be able to go back to it at another date etc.
I'd be a bit annoyed if I'd paid to see a DJ play only to find out they only had to pres play on the night.

I myself love making personal continuous mix CDs for me to listen to, but I wouldn't do live sh*t with it.
That's what Virtual DJ is for!
