  • Pls post something else. A standard maybe

  • Dude great ear for it , lovin this keep doing what you do buddy!!!

  • What trumpet do you use?

  • I'm a student. I seldom use the silent mute these days but it helps me increase my energy level when I'm practising timid like, you know, play mute for 20 minutes then lose the mute and I'm in rev ved up. Yours sounded pretty good. Your really good. Thanks.

  • nice mute =)

  • look how many views you have why dont you make more videos i would love to here so much more! and withouht the silent brass mute :DDD

you have chops mann i digg it!

  • ur playin very nice !

from which webside u got the background music?

  • What Scales Are you using??

  • modal ... Miles would be proud. But it suffers from the same problem all modal stuff does, sounds cool, but becomes challenging to be original after the first 32 bars in the same key :)

  • Wow man, killer playing! The SB doesn't sound bad, though the one for my trombone sounds like junk. I wouldn't mind being your neighbor!lol

  • lol @ fake

  • The mouthpiece is a gold 1c probably the best you can get

  • ishent that a speaker in it o.o? looks like it XD

  • ho-ly crap. now thats jazz

  • nice man

  • SPILL THE WINE! DIG THAT GIRRRURRRL!

  • You might get a better sound if you plug the mute in.

I have the same Yamaha mute...but don't like it.

But sometimes it's the only way...too bad

  • thats a funny looking mouthpiece what kind is it? nice solo man keep it up

  • looks like a monette mouthpiece

  • kewl thanks

  • great feel...who are you?

  • what chords and scales you using? great solo btw

  • cool i like it

  • Mate, if u sound that good with a practise mute in, stuff the neighbours lol...

well if u get any other recordings let me know, love to see some others :)

    Keep blowing

    Migs

  • good rythm

  • Some great improvisation! I really enjoyed listening to this clip, thanks. Gives me some improv ideas for my own improvisation. Keep up the great playing!

  • I like the tension you brought- just enough to be tasty.

  • Nice work! Trumpets are amazing and being in jazz is my favorite part of playing the instrument. :)

  • Not bad, keep on working!

    Thanks!

  • omg dat is ill

  • that sounds great!

  • wow that was amazing coming from a fellow jazz trumpeter

  • you are ace !

  • dude nice solo. I wish i can play like that soon

  • man that is cool,,,i can hear miles influence big time,,,,,this guy is cool cat player,,

,,i like to listent to him way more than vizzutti for intstance,,cause,,,,,,,it sounds more fun,,,,know what i mean?

  • Nice high's

  • IM a fellow trumpet player and that solo was amzing. im love how u hit those high notes with ease and perferct slurs to those upper range notes and how u sustain the notes is pure amaznigness

  • I had no idea so many people would watch this and comment on it! I'm flattered. Anyway, to answer some questions - the mouthpiece is a modified Jettone Studio 1M (by Harrelson Trumpets) and the horn is a Phaeton PHT 2030. I don't have the Phaeton anymore as I now play a Harrelson Muse. I listen mostly to Freddie Hubbard along with a mix of allsorts. I'll try and get around to posting more clips, this one was meant to be an experiment on how the silent brass mute came accross (rubbish).

  • LOVE that solo! What kind of trumpet players are you listening to, if I may ask?

  • That looks like some sort of monette mouthpiece. Am i right?

  • what kind of mouthpiece is that?

  • very good very good

  • what sort of a mute is this? straight, cup, harmon, bucket, plunger???

  • Well for one thing its not cup, harmon, bucket,or plunger. So I'm guessing some kind of straight mute.

  • Thanks :)

  • Its a silent brass mute... just doesn't have the module plugged in.

  • Oh i see :)

  • I love Yamaha for coming out with that... so nice

  • Does it sounds good and does it really works?

  • yeah

  • HOLY SHIT! IS that a MONETTTE?

  • Yep!

  • I dig how long did it take you to get to that level of playing?

  • Way smooooooth!

  • Nice Job, im not much into jazz at the moment but i really liked this, keep up the good work

  • Who do you listen to. Sounds like a mixture of Freddie and Dizzy with a little bit of Miles. By the way that was nice.

  • i'm diggin it man

  • ur rly gd lol, it sounded rly gd but it woz a bit borin 2 wotch, mayb u could do somthin if u no how 2 coz lyk i think its kinda complicatd

  • Great... love the phrase u play over the 30second mark.. very Nicholas Payton

  • nice, dude. how old are you?

  • I'm 'around' 30-ish ;-)

  • Awesome. you should post one w/out the mute. but tell me when you do. I wanna hear it. ( I'm a soph. in high school

  • I had no idea I could do that - will try and work it out. The horn is a Phaeton.

  • Hey Trumpetbloke, I find there is less back pressure and more muting when I use a "Sh! Sh! Mannie Klein Practice Mute" by Hume and Berg Mfg. Co., Inc., East Chicago, Ind., USA. Nice Groove!

  • I thought for sure you would run the audio from the headphone jack on the silent brass into your computer.

    I guess I was wrong.

  • good considering thats a silent brass stuck in the end :-) what kind of horn is that?

  • Sounds great - post some more when your neighbours aren't in so you can take the mute out!
