  • why does everyone keep posting about who brought them to the video? just shut up and listen to the magnificence that is Stevie Wonder.

  • I came here because of Stevie Wonder...

  • Thanks MrRp25,

The best of the best to you and yours......

    Flytown.....

  • i heard this song played today, at what i would have to call the most beautiful 'Going Home' celebration.. i had to hear it again.

  • A haunting melody that touches your soul in an unusual way. Somewhat scary, but touching at the same time. Sad words with a lot of meaning. Wired but beautiful.

    Flytown.....

  • @Flytownn nicely stated.

  • Check out the George Michael version. It's much darker and sung in a lower key which changes the feeling of the song. Of course both are great and Stevie wrote the original.

  • There are few songs that truly touch you no matter what you may be feeling at the time of listening, whether it be happiness, goodness, badness, sadness or madness...After the music floats in and you acknowledge the genius that has dropped by to visit your soul just be glad...Glad that in our small lifespan we could be fortunate enough to experience pure beauty like this wonderful song by stevie.

  • its a blind man looking at a rare perspective of life dont you think its a realisation of life today

  • this song or i should say his music was and still is some of the best.

  • im a grown ass man but every time i hear this i cant stop my eyes from watering

  • @612MG I feel you brother

  • to me this song is about the sad reality of this world , no matter how much good you do when you go, the same pains we have been dealing with will be still here!

  • Dear Mr. Stevie Wonder,

I have never been lonely since I had you to listen to!

  • I think he is simply saying that those who suffer shall be here forever!

  • what do u think is the real meaning of the song?

  • @dimogeo I believe that the song is about how all the people who doubt and hate have no place where someone who lives life in truth will end up. Be it "heaven" or wherever, no person should have to deal with that negativity if they have lived a life of truth and love to the end. But, that's just how I hear it....

  • @Malfeas1313 i cannot get the meaning when i go... maybe its another way to say where i go... doesn't matter; its a briliant song

  • @dimogeo What he mean is when he goes to the kingdom of Heaven with the Lord the hopeless sinner will NOT go!

  • I came here because I've appreciated this man's Genius for 40 years!

  • I am here because this is a great song, and we have to listen to it.

  • @snotboxxx obviously not ...........we came here for stevie ...........fuck your thumbs up

  • @ManiLevin co-sign

  • I just came

  • I came her because of Michael Jackson memorial. This song brings back bad memories. RIP King of Pop.

  • One of Stevie's darkest and most beautiful compositions : A cross between a Chopin Nocturne and " Strange Fruit " by Lady Day and I would argue that his body of work from "Music Of My Mind " until " Songs In The Key Of Life " stands head and shoulders above any current popular compositions .

  • This message is timeless. Mr Stevie Wonder is the voice that echoes the sounds from across the universe and brings those sounds to earth for us to hear. I've listened to Stevie Wonder since the late 60's and his messages still are relevant to this day.

  • they wont go it so beautiful although if i listen to it too much it sends me into a really strange dimsension and i dont feel like i am attached to the world

  • Stevie Wonder music was a constant in my house on Saturday mornings.I remember him pulling this out. I remember setting the needle so it would repeat. I have fond memories of me sitting at my father's feet while he played countless music. All of it is now the soundtrack of my life...

  • ed sheeran!

only came on though to check if they were comments about him sending people here.

  • @geeniemusic13 oh please dont post the name of such a boring singer or associate him with the wonder of stevie

  • @zethos100 hes not boring to me. you should respect other peoples opinions.

  • @geeniemusic13 honestly, i do agree with you that i should respect your opinion after all thats pretty much what stevie wonder is singing about in this song.

  • @zethos100 thankyou :)

  • Lol loads of comments about Ed Sheeran tweeting bout this... But, yes it's true. Ed Sheeran's tweet brought me here. <3

  • ed sheeran..

  • cheers Ed... :D

  • Ed sheeran <3

  • dear Ed, thank you for this<3

  • Ed Sheeran tweeted about this song so im checkin it out

  • Ed Sheeran just Tweeted about this, this is why I am here.

  • @JustQuiteNiceGuy oh thank you! i was wondering why are you here.it was killing me

  • Ed Sheeren just brang ME here.

  • Great use of the Moog synthesizer.

  • moonlight

  • it always makes me cry.... love you stevie!

  • This is an amazing piece. Everytime I listen to this song I get chills. It is one song that is and always be a classic. Sorrows to impart, right here from the start, they won't go when I go. We all stand alone. To thine ownself be true. Stevie is a musical genius!

  • WWWWWWWHAT A SINGER!!!

  • it's another level !

  • Fuck Kanye West.

Stevie's best album. Did anyone ever make as many amazing albums in the space of just 3 years (72-74)? Maybe the Beatles ....

  • I don't know if anyone here has watched the new climbing movie 'The Scene' but there is such an awesome segment with climber Matt Wilder climbing to a rendition of this song by The Pirate Signal. It's driving me crazy that I can't find that song anywhere. I don't want to buy the movies' soundtrack just yet :-/

  • What does Kanye West have to do with this?

  • "He ain't hardly gonna give"

  • il a compris mes oreilles ce monsieur, non d'une pipe en écume de mer!!

  • I don't like this version, I love the way Stevie Wonder was performing this master piece in the Michael Jackson Tribute, ONLY WITH THE SOUND OF THE PIANO. This is probably the most beautiful song that I've ear in all my life,

THANK YOU STEVIE WONDER FOR COMPOSE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @adrygarcia This version? This is THE version. The only fucking version. Cut your tongue out and your ears off .

  • @Nautilus1972, thanks, yes I explain badly, this is the original, but I say that I like much more without chorus, and without any other instrument, only piano, this way the song sounds much more intimate. This is why I like much more the way on M. Jacksons Tribute, that also is singing with much more energy. If you no listen before, George Michael version that is absolutly amazing also, and have better chorus. But obviously, Wonder is the master that composed this. IS ONLY A PERSONAL OPINION.

  • @Nautilus1972

    /watch?v=pB8QeHMhFUQ,

(in the minute 4:05 beggins his amazing performance of They Won't Go when I go. I love this!!)

Almost I cry when I listen this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Nautilus1972 Interesting I heard George's version first and I like it more. Sue me:)

  • I came here because even though I am 27 years old, I recognize REAL music of all genres. #SteviesBiggestFan

  • Impressive. I'm here because of George Michael. 1990- Listen Without Prejudice Album.

  • i came here cus of Michael Jackson

  • BEST MUSIC EVER.......my brother only loved Supertramp in those days.

He is now 52 years old and recently he admitted to me that he bought a 'best of CD of Stevie only because he remembered me playing this music almost day and night.

    Brothers can change :-)

  • well, i came here because of michael jackson...

  • YA OBOJAU ETY PESNU

  • The Stevie Sonata...

  • Comment removed

  • AMEN!!!!!!!

  • Great Song

  • Thumbs up if you came because of his MJ triubute =p

  • Thumbs up if you didnt come here because of Kanye West

  • @snotboxxx what did Kanye do to this song?

  • @Depoetress23 Dont know.. But there was a top voted comment with "thumbs up if you came here because of Kanye West".. Which i obviously didnt :)

  • @snotboxxx what does this song have to do with him???? i hate when folks do that.

  • @mattratt512 I have no idea.

  • @snotboxxx WHAT?!?!? Did Kanye try to remake this song?!?

  • i came cause of george michael

  • @snotboxxx Why would someone come because of Kanye... he did a cover?

  • @spinderellafire No idea. When i came here, there was a "thumbs up if you came here because of kanye west" with most the most thumbs up. Since i didnt come here because of KW, i decided (in moment of weakness) to write my message, as a kind of "protest".. Silly, since i don't really like this whole "thumbs up if..." trend. ;)

  • @snotboxxx

i dont get why kanye west?

  • Tears.......

  • Thumbs up if you came here because of pure love for Stevie Wonder..not because Kanye sent you...

  • @MaeliniValentine Kanye? What does he have to do with this song?

  • @DJRenee Kanye performed it recently

  • @DJRenee Apparently people were saying "Kanye sent me here" and I was saying "who knew this before Kanye started sending people"

  • Kanye sent me here, but this song is brilliant with or without him, I wish I had heard it before. This song is too deep, Stevie was so beyond his time

  • Comment removed

  • Those synthesizers!!!

  • @youngzacc yesss, they are amazing :)))))

  • "Father forgive them, they no naught what they do.."

  • @savemyplaylist WHAT THE HELL!!

  • He composed this song when he was only 24...such a profound spirit; just because Stevie's blind doesn't mean he can't see.

  • @iamwalkingbyfaith lol no im not hurt. I just see the world for what it is. And i might come across in that way to because im a deep person and i also write poetry or as i call it "life entries" I find peace in writing down and expressing my inner thoughts in certain ways. So yea there you have it. and may god bless you and your family

  • 3:19 , i loved that ! it hits places you never knew you had :\ forever love Stevie !!

  • This is a tear jerker.....

  • yeezy reupholstered his piano

  • One of the most powerful songs ever written!!!!

  • @telj1 Happy B day Stevie!

  • @8grove Yes in deed.... Happy Birthday Stevie!

  • a friend can be the worst enemy when they turn from you. theres no such thangs as friends but there is such thangs as associates. so many "friends" do so much dirt on their friendee with every kinda sin you can imagine. I long to get away from this current place, to be alone secluded and then bathe in my own company. No such thang as complete perfection. only person that can offer complete protection is god, through king jesus. never put your ALL your hapiness in worldly things.ugetworldyresults

  • @MrWarmCool 96 I totally agree with everything you said, but it feels to me like you are coming from a place of hurt. Are you ok?

  • the world is a predator it corrupts the very foundation of a righteous man,if that righteous man allows it. The best thang to do when you faced to make this decision is to "NEUTRALIZE" and throw it into the Incinerator of the mind. So many ppl are wounded, sad, unhappy, corrupted, without peace, living in sin but dont know better, etc. they live in "watered down wisdom" aka ways of the world. I cant wait til judgement day when god judge me and bring me into heaven where i'll find that my soul long for

  • ppl will continue to be just be people,we can only change if we set our sights on being better than what we are now. so many homes are being ruined by ppl that cant let go of ex boyfriend or ex girlfriends, then they move on and find someone new but they drag old feelings and old baggage into new relationships. I have no type of association with ppl of my past relaionships, not even in the most cheapest form. you cant serve 2 masters its impossible. you cant be godly and hellish at the same time

  • this song is so true, ppl lie, cheat, steal, deceive, live in their own sinful playground, dont cherish, good at lying, ruining peace, unrepentful, bashers of good, consider sin "forbidden desires",sacrifice good for unworthy desires, serving good and evil, homewrecking, deceivers, bashers of gods law, cant let go of the past associations, unforgiving, unloving, recruiters of sin, paretns of pain, shell of them former selves, sinning for fun, blinded, lost, hopeless, and will regret when the true nature of sin manifest

  • The greed of man will be

    Far away from me

And my soul will be free

They won't go when I go

  • I now realize how blessed i have been to have lived the era of high end musical talents of the 60's,70's and 80's. The lose of Luther Vandross,Barry White,Michael Jackson,Marvin Gaye,Isaac Hayes,James BrownTeddy Pendergrass,Johnny Taylor,Johnny Bristol,Levi Stubbs,Bob Marley,Nina Simone,Donny Hathaway and many others just reinforces the idea that the best music as already been made. I feel extremely fortunate to have lived such a gift and luxury of the music of yesteryear.....peace

  • @summersbr1 and don't forget about the 90's

  • Marvellous.

  • Stevie Wonder is a brilliant man, during this period in the 1970s he was incredible. Probably the best run of back to back albums other than Michael Jackson, who was perhaps on a par with his first few solo albums. Great upload, thanks!

  • alot of people are going to associate this song with MJ but this song deserves recognition just for being awesome.

  • @GantzIsSloppy

the reason people associate this song with MJ is because it fits so perfectly...

that man was so innocent and we tore him from limb to limb

    fuck you illuminati

  • amazing!

  • I reccomend the version done by stefon harris and blackout.

  • RIP MJ

  • i used to think he had there was a synth patch he used

but he tracks the synth and makes chords/melodies...

    coooool shit!

    im on it.

  • Beyond DEEP!!!

  • What a relief listening to it when you go through tough times.

Thank you Lord, for giving us Stevie.

  • "No one can keep me from my Destiny"

  • Truly the most touching album of Stevie's.

    Right after Talking Book.

  • 4 people are blind to good music

  • end of the world !

  • this is a masterpiece. all of Stevie's works are masterpieces, but this is truly exceptional even for him.

  • sounds something like a Glass progression.

  • amazinggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

  • OMFG, thank you. Thank you south side, thank you at all sides. Thank you spinning world, thank you, THANK YOU!

  • To the lonesome valley...UUMMMMMMMM

  • Timeless piece of music by an all time great artist!

  • beautiful song love stevie wonder...shari

  • epic button plz?

  • In the 70s his sad songs were his best work

  • I am the patstiest, whitest guy you're likely to find and even I find this soulful and brilliant. Stevie's work, especially during this "golden" period, was unparalleled. Paul Simon knew, hee hee. My favorite album is "Talking Book" (vinyl copy hangs framed on my wall), and my favorite song is "Blame it on the Sun." Those were very hard choices. The guy was truly a pioneer. While I believe Brian Wilson was the greatest songwriter of the 60s, I feel the same way about Wonder for the 70s.

  • @wendellgee1985 Even more so than Smokey Robinson?

  • @wendellgee1985 HAHAHAHA! Paul Simon knew for sure!

  • unclean minds mislead the pure.... WOW! Preach Stevie!

  • Beautiful

  • Beautiful

  • Beautiful

  • I was introduced to this song by a friend of mine. After going back to listen to it for mysefl later, I couldn't help but play it over and over again. I want this song played at my funeral!

  • A message to the HATERS!!!

  • This is the type of song your SOUL feels.... I love it!

  • yes, I like this, hello, I'm you

  • Real life

  • BEAUTIFULLY HAUNTING IS RIGHT!!!! IT HAS A SAD TWIST TO IT BUT ITS ADDICTING AND POWERFUL

  • BEAUTIFULLY HAUNTING IS RIGHT!!!! IT HAS A SAD TWIST TO IT BUT ITS ADDICTING AND POWEFUL

  • I need to play this song on piano !

  • This song is amazing. No doubt about it.

  • Beautiful!

  • the greatest song ever written

  • My good girlfriend wrote this song along with stevie

  • this song is genius... pure unadulterated genius

  • Stevie was just little over 20 when he wrote and composed this beautiful funeral song. This touches deep.

  • RESPECT!

  • wow love this song

  • Fuck This.....I Love this song. Any Suggestions ????

  • I would say this song is one of the best songs Ive heard in a long time, I wish stevie got more recognition for it, its the perfect mix of power, pain, hardship and retribution.

  • Stevie Wonder is such a legend, the way he write songs is so unique compare to others. God Bless you Stevie.
