@wrathofvengance67 A lot of Marine Divisions are switching to the MICH so don't expect to see it much in the next few years. So far the 3/5 Marines and Marine Recon are issued the MICH that i've seen.

i have a usa army helmet but i dont know what kind it is. my mom was in the army and they gave her too helmets so when she was retirering she when to turn in her gear and well they just wanted the nbc gear only. so now i have all her gear. i might make a videos of all the stuff i have. plzz reply if you want me too make videos ok.

Best part of this helmet? The pads on the inside. They make it SOOOO comfortable to wear for extended periods. Plus I think would be the trimmed neck section. Most of the time it's a pain in the ass when you're in the prone wearing body armor, generally it tries to blind you...

@GearBuyersGuide I think he might be referring to the front tilt that you mentioned earlier in the video. I was never allowed to put a counter weight on my helmet so they used to be useless, especially when prone. So unless you can set up your helmet correctly then yes they do in fact stink.

just a quick question, when u go into the military, more specific, the army, i notice the army helmets are much smaller and condensed than the marine helmet. any oen know why this is? whcih one has better protection? which one is more comfortable? and when u go into the army if u have a choice of helmets?

SF guys use pro-tec helmets. they have no ballistic qualities but are by far better than the mich or pasgt helmets. both of the latter have next to no ballistic protection (9mm or lower) plus they are heavy, uncomfortable, and it makes your head 3 times bigger. it causes it's own problems of knocking your nugget on things. the pro-tecs are low-pro and don't cause as much interference.

Incorrect. It's NOTHING to do with style. If a cover is worn or not is dictated by mission objective. Specials often wear covers. Also, the PASGT is being dropped by regular soldiers in favor of the MICH helmet for various reasons.

The MICH is lighter and smaller than the PASGT to allow for greater situational awareness etc. Both MICH and PASGT have a ballistic rating of 3A. Sometimes you see spec ops with mountaineering helmets on.

That vest was a flack jacket, not a true "bullet proof armor". It can stop other bullets, but not direct hit from rifles... It needs hard plating under that flack jacket to stop direct hits from rifles...

Dude stop the bull, the government is trying to save money by cutting that helmet up. (I study history of arms and armor, I know) One out of many examples: The same with the Romans, they went back to chain-mail and much less protective helmet do to the Roman economy in the mid 300s AD.

you have studyied the state of arm and armor? what have you to prove that you have speicalized in any type of Protection?

Here there talking about a LEVEL III-A MICH , the reason why its 7% more lesser in coverage then other helemts is that it doesn't matter if you get in the head, the Higher Ballistic rounds will kill you. they do have LEVEL III Helemts made out of LIGHT polyethlene able to stop a RifleThreat but yet that Ceramic Helemt would be to heavy we will be stuch with Poly LEvel III

I am in the process of studying arms and armor... I have books about them.

The track record does not lie about helmets and body armor. More often then not, when an Empire is on it's way to fall, they cute the quality of helmets & some times body armor to save money! (It show that helmets will cover less, this saves time & resource which saves money.)

And the last time I looked, our economy is on sh#*s, so you bet they want to save some bucks... Do you have any idea how much they save a year by taking about 7% or 8% less? A bunch! Is our "Empire" on it's way to fall? It seems like it if we do not change course. Empires come and goes, why not ours?

The Marines do not like this helmet, now they have there own called the Light weight helmet, it look very much like of the older style, the PASGT or M-88. (German style)

Well, the wars we are fighting, we are dealing with bombs and shrapnel then we are dealing with rifles, so a III-A is good. And it can stop most rifles from a bit of a distance, & all this road side bombs and shrapnel, you would need more over.

Today I do not think we are doing our best on making better armor, hell, Roman armor can stop most Shrapnel, and true plate armor is about Level II on ballistics!

yeah MICH is a F""King awesome helmet. It is way and waaaay lighter than the old school PASGT helmet. Also event if you up grade your old school PASGT but changing in the disc pads and chin traps the heavy is still heavy. Because i owned both so i know. PASGT up graded bit lighter than the original PASGT but still has less protection than the MICH. I don't know about the Marine Corps issue LWH. -_-"

Ever fought in a suit of armor for over 2 hours straight?

The last time I looked; the Marine Corps still use the old school PASGT. Like they say; see a dead body, armor becomes very comfortable very fast...

And what I read about them; they like it better do to better protection, they do not like the MICH do to lack of protection... So yea, real men but smart can carry a pound or two more.

Through out history armor makes a huge difference between life and death.

have you ever try to test it? try to shoot the mich and pasgt helmet with ak rounds. :D Yeah after for a while when you remove it you can feel a little tight pain around your neck. But not mich. Been using the mich over than 5 hours also pasgt too.

How do you attach a 3 point mount to the MICH? I am interested on getting one but my helmet doesnt have any holes in the front to mount anything. Does this mean i have to drill holes by myself? Or do i just glue it... lol this might sound dumb but i really need help.
